Default Twin charged dyno #2

Put the hallman boost controller on and re-dynoed the twin charged Z. Turned the boost up 3.5 lbs and put down 430 whp and 411 torque. It could have easily pulled more but we were pushing limits on torque and injectors were at 76%. Time to build the engine and see where it can go. Here's the dyno.

seems power everywhere is better, based on gt35 dynos there should be ALOT left in this system still top end but he has double the torque of a gt35 only car at 3200 rpms

This build fascinates me. I was wondering does your set-up running 3.5psi making 429whp the same as just a regular turbo kit on 3.5 psi and ~330whp? like is your set-up just that more efficient as to where it can make 100whp more on the same boost as a regular single turbo kit?

his wastegate is set to 3.5 psi, but he has a supercharger on top of that giving him even more power. the advantage as you can see is he has much more power under the curve. looking at compressor maps his turbo is actually running less effecient but will be in its peak effeciency island when he ups the boost on a built block.

Got a boost curve logged with that dyno run by chance?

Actually I had "added" 3.5lbs to my wastegate, with the boost controller. You can see that at around 4250 rpms my supercharger runs out of efficiency and the turbo takes over. She is a rocket off the line though due to the positive displacement charger, then the turbo takes hold and pulls it through the high range. Loads of fun to drive! The sounds that are coming from the engine bay are rediculous too. Its like a mix of turbines spooling and air blowing. Definitaly gets people wondering WTF.

Sorry, No boost curves were logged.

So what was the "total" boost you were running?

If you want to see pics just check out my profile and look at them.

Total boost is 13lbs at the plenum. However, my boost is hard to determine. Stillen boost isnt as "strong" of boost as others. Basically, a stillen kit with 8.5lb pulley will only yield 300whp. But a PL kit at 8 lbs can reach 400. My boost gauge reads 4.5 pounds off the line. Hits max boost at around 4000k.

Ill try to make an in cab vid and capture how fast my boost springs up. Its almost like the turbo is on a switch. From 3500 to 4000 it goes from 4.5 to 15lbs.

The compound system is tricky though. Without knowing how much psi i am running in my charge pipe I have no idea how much I actually turned up the boost from the gt35. I just turned the controller up untill it reached 430whp and it read 13lbs on the utec. I could have only turned it up 2 pounds but read 3.5 more at the plenum due to the compound. Im not sure how much the controller has left in it. I do know it has the 5lb max (small spring) in it though and there is a 12 pound spring in the box.

One thing i did learn is that the compound system isnt as drastic as everyone predicted. I was hearing id be making somewhere in the 30's with it minimum. I think i could hit 30 but i would have to max out both setups.

Damn this would work superb with a BP 6766 with a quick spool valve and a stillen SC. I can see 25 psi by 4.5k rpm

Wow, good job...love to hear some audio/videos of your setup...

Also, I'm glad you didn't get a typical Stillen hood which is ugly as heck...
