Not if I get a switch that switches between stock and Haltech....why I need to get a full tune just for one day? I'll flip the switch for the inspection then switch it back to Haltech for the rest of the year....

Vince certainly does tune cams as a matter of routine. In his post here, he stated that he pulled back a single area that he thought he might have over-advanced (which turned out to not be the cause of the CEL). He didn't state that he put the map back to stock.

I thought this was VERY interesting..

I took my fully bolted on and tuned ALL Motor Maxima tune and laid it on top of the Turbo tune......

Before (All motor): 275whp @6000rpm & 258ft-lbs @4700rpm

After (Turbo): 404whp @6200rpm & 393ft-lbs @4500rpm

DIFFERENCE: +129WHP & +138FT-LBS @8psi

As you can see there is no lag at all.

At 3000rpms Im making 148whp & 260ft-lbs vs. 127whp & 224ft-lbs.

At 3500rpms Im making 192whp & 288ft-lbs vs. 154whp & 231ft-lbs.

Basically increases through out the ENTIRE RPM BAND!! SWEET!!

Congrats and glad you're happy with your boosted Maxima. BUT I wouldn't say "no lag at all". It appears that you aren't reaching peak boost until about 4500RPM. Since you said you have a .82 AR turbine housing, I'm assuming it's a T3 housing. Is that correct? If so, I would expect a ball bearing PTE6266 CEA with a T3 .82 housing to be fully spooled to 8PSI before 3500RPM. 4500RPM seems a bit laggy for a billet CEA turbo of that size unless you're running a T4 housing.

Well for a turbo of that size doesnt feel laggy at all. I guess thats because at 3k Im making about 40ft-lbs & 20whp more than my N/A. So it feels real strong down low....way stronger than my N/A....thats probably due to the extra air from the turbo. If you WOT around 3k it starts to pull and respond. Full boost is around 4500 but its already responding before that....its all good I love the way its setup. I dont know how vband compares to T3 and T4 housings? Are they bigger?

I also had a 6spd 5.5 gen maxima (year 2003 - Titanium edition). Man, I did everything NA to that car that could be done. Fidanza flywheel, SPEC clutch, Cattman headers/catback, NWP spacers and blockoff plate, short ram intake, tein SS coilovers and some cosmetic stuff. Even NA that car was QUICK! I put down 260whp.

Congrats on your numbers, that car must pull like crazy. Are you on maxima.org?

+1 for the few Maximas running a Haltech!

On the 11 and 21 codes. Ive put a switch in my harness to run stock ecu ivt. This is FWD 5.5 gen maxima IVT maps which are crazy. I can give you my stock IVT numbers and that should put it pretty close to what the stock ecu wants.

Or if you want a switch I can do that also, its pretty easy. The only downside is to run stock ecu ivt you have to reset the ecu (pedal procedure) I was not able to just flip to stock ecu and work.

Anyway congrats again on 400whp!

So if I run a switch to go back to stock IVT I can do that and then switch back to my Haltech IVT maps after inspection and run like that until next years inspection?

Cant you just reset the stock ECU with Cipher? There is an option in there to do that.

Hey man when you get a chance call me because I'll need a little guidance on how to wire that switch into the harness you made. I'm sure its not hard.

Yeah you could do that. Using cipher is a lot easier way to reset the ecu and get the stock ecu IVT working again.

i hit 20 psi on a pair of 6262 by 4800 rpms at 300whp more. my setup is super laggy. i guess its all relative.
