And wouldn't they still walk?

Sure hate to thread Jack but this car has brought up a few questions....
I agree that once u have reached that level routine tear downs are part of the business.... Imagine doing that with our stock motors... ish would get old real quick!
Here's the visual difference between stock sleeves and the Darton Mid sleeves...

Stock sleeves

Darton sleeves

As you can see, the top of the deck is significantly reinforced on the Darton sleeves.

Wow amazing power for the Nissan power car! Congrats on the time and run.

A friend of mine has his V6 Turboed NSX sleeved by Darton and they are one of the best in the business. They do good work on any sleeved motor!

Thanks,
Dallin

Also, adding sleeves does not change the deck type....
Have you ever seen what darton mid sleeves look like on a vq? All you have to do is scroll to the post below yours. Darton vq mid sleeves make it a closed deck.

Exactly! I knew I wasn't crazy... Although I didn't use sleeves I was sure that they changed the deck configuration by making it at the least a semi closed deck..

Hence my question"if they don't close the deck, then are they jus stronger at the top"
I'm not tryin to be funny n I don't kno everything, I'm jus a guy who calls it how I see it...

Thanks for pix

ahh very cool, stand corrected.

Dunno which motor I was looking at then that was sleeved but had much bigger water ports, almost like the stock deck.

wonder if they drop sleeves as much as the cars on here?
