i thought i would let everyone know... we were able to tune jimmy's car alittle more and got 359rwhp and 305lbs torque !!!! jimmy will post dyno sheet with pics tomorrow..

ps... we took a good amount of timing out of both jimmy's and zimbo's car to make them run completly SAFE !!!

 

What kind of tuning? SAFC?

jimmy, great post. Did you have to change anything from Vortech's base kit? Give us the details!

 

Well there goes my parade, the float just crashed into the wall hehe.

 

Jimmy either never made it home or is too busy smoking his 275s to post. Aside from an issue with the actual blower unit in the kit that had to be replaced and an initial wiring mistake, from what I saw the install went smoothly. The only customization I'm aware of was that the 350z program that Vortech uses for the Splitsecond device doesn't work well on the G35, so some tuning is required.

we tuned the black box that comes with the vortech kit (need the program to tune) by laptop first, then on dyno with laptop... jimmy got the S-AFC "JUST INCASE" he ever need to tune the car at all in the future...

 

there are a few minor changes need to make the kit fit.... it's easier to put on the coupe then the sedan... (more engine room in the coupe)

 

i'll try to put a detailed post up of everything...here is some info,hope it helps..

jimmy's coupe was tuned to 11.9 a/f all the way across the board. we also took 2 degrees timing out low end,about 4 degrees out mid range, and 6 degrees out topend.. yes he also put one heat range cooler plugs..

zimbo's sedan made 330rwhp and 292lbs torque
jimmy's coupe made 359rwhp and 305lbs torque


p.s. both cars could run about 10psi and still be safe because of tuning and timing retard..

 

Hey fastvtecCL, what color is Jimmy's G35? Was it over at Underground Racing. Saturday morning on the dyno? I was there for a few minutes looking for McDuck.

Coupe is mine, sedan is Zimbo's. If you saw it on Saturday then it had to be mine cause Zimbo came by on friday I think.

Very Funny! It was the silver coupe that I saw. It was strapped on the dyno when I got there. It was really nice. It ALMOST made me want to get a G instead of a Z. Oh my God! Did I just say that! Okay, I'm sane now but it was really nice. I like those numbers that you posted, very impressive.

i have the only red CL in charlotte with black wheels... there is a black carolinaperformance sticker on my back window and the top but thats about it.. i know a few people that are in insane racing but not me
