Default Which high flow cat for gtm tt kit?

I want to know which hfc you are using on your tt kit?
My first choice is universal vibrant 3'' metallic one (7102) but i want the best for the buck..more flow/power and smaller size as possible..it's very tight between tranny and frame...

thx

If your emission laws aren't that strict as they are here in Cali where the cops look for modified cars, I suggest going with straight-through piping.

I would suggest berk technology high flow cats. I have a greddy kit, no: noise complains, smell, rasp, cracks, flaws and perfect fitment. After a slight tweek by my tunner the ses light went away. I run test pipes now, with a bigger exhaust.

Just a reference as to how they looked after 3k miles:

Lol I sold them in less than 2hrs after posting, they're legit products brah'

I use vibrant 3" metallic core cats. 30k+ miles boosted and lots of track abuse w/launch control (fuel dumping straight into them).

These would be my choice. Most expensive, but also made specifically for forced induction and no loss of HP.

Guys, he wants 'best bang for the buck'.

Stop recommending these companies that make hundreds off of pre-made systems. Go with a custom made 3" STRAIGHT THROUGH piping. NO OBSTRUCTIONS; LESS MATERIAL (which affects costs); MORE FLOW.

That is what I did for my turbo set-up.

30k boosted miles (hard driven) with NO issues.

just wondering, are the o2 sensor after the cats installed with no spacers? if so, no check engine light complaining right?

I was thinking of changing mine out because my o2 sensors are complaining about my HFC. I don't want to space out the o2's because I want a working HFC.

thanks.

No spacers... Catalyst codes don't pop up unless the weather is cold. Just delete the P04x0 codes and you're fine... still passes emissions.

Can someone tell me where you fit HFC's on TT builds? I feel like there is no room on the downpipes where they would clear! Anyone have installed pics?

you need a custom exhaust to put them in. they fit right in the trans tunnel where resonantors are on normal dual exhausts

Has anyone fit them on the down pipes? I'd like to keep the o2 sensors in the factory location!

You will lose a lot more horsepower putting them right after the turbos. My experience was 60 vs 20 whp loss (moving them further back). They work much better lighting off up close though.

My Vortech passed California smog with flying colors on Berk HFCs. I also liked Random Technology's HFCs but swapped them for the Berks. Now I'm on ART pipes.

Since you're TT, I suggest getting a nice set of universal HFCs and going custom. I ran a single Vibrant HFC on my old 3000GT and passed smog without issue.

Yap, i'll install 3'' vibrant metallic hfc this winter but i want more info from rcdash...

With hfc right after turbos, you'll loss only at lower rpm or everywhere on powerband ?

Exactly same set up before & after?

Looks like your set on HFC's, but I agree with Blu. If you can get away with it, go for the straight pipes. I'm running the GTM 3" pipes with a dual 3" Greddy exhaust. No problems, plenty of power.
