I'm getting the last of my stuff together to drop a turbonetics ST kit into my Z and had a question about the base maps available from turboxs.

There is a standard TN tune and a 550cc TN tune available for download on their website. However, I've run across some threads where people say that some 550cc injectors that fit the Z are actually 510cc injectors.

So, my question is...which injectors are people using with this tune? Early deatschwerks 550s, some sort of RC550, something else? Which larger ones actually came with the (I think it was stage 2?) TN kit?

I just want to make sure that I have enough fuel to make it to a tuner safely...I live in Michigan and the closest tuner I can find that knows about boosted Z's with UTEC is in Cincinnati.

I have a few set of injectors that will fit the car...some RC440s and some SRT-4 injectors that drop right in. The SRT-4 injectors actually spec out to 510cc at 3bar, so if the 550cc tune is actually for 510cc injectors, then I should have a very nice base map to get me down to Cinci. Else, I'll probably have to run the 440cc injectors with the "standard" TN tune.

Thoughts? Input?

While idling/cruising, the stock computer still has the ability to trim the air/fuel ratio - so anything close should work to make the drive.

 

Yeah I had thought about that...just have to keep my foot out of it.

After doing some more research, it turns out that the injectors I am planning on using actually flow 559cc when the specific gravity of the test fluid is switched to what RC Engineering uses. So essentially they are just a hair bigger than RC550s and I ought to be fine running the 550cc base map with these injectors.

Now to find a tuner!
