Default utec base map

i am doing a twin turbo build this winter, i have the gtm stage 1 kit. and i have 600cc injectors. i am using utec for the time being, yes i know its not that great . but thats what i have. anyways, on the website they have a twin turbo 440cc base map and a single turbo 600cc base map. im not sure which one would be better to use for a base map. when i install my kit. any help would be great.

600cc st

Install, test the tune and limp it to a shop to get tuned. Basically all you need is to be able to start, idle and drive under 3krpm
Do not expect to drive it hard on a pre-made tune.

Utec is not that bad. The interface is the worst part but its simple once you get used to it. Not as pretty as a haltech but it works. It used to be the bee's knees before Fcon, haltech and proefi.

And for the price that they go for, you really cannot beat it.

If it's not too long of a distance (<50 miles?) you can drive it untuned on the OEM ECU then pop the UTEC in at the shop. As long as you are light and easy on the throttle you can avoid going too rich.

good luck with what? I drove for a week on stock ecu and 600cc injectors with no issue except fast tip in was too rich.

certainly zero issue driving to a tuner.

thanks guys for all the help. the shop i was going to get it tuned at is about 6hours away. only other closet place is about 3hours away. i live in west texas, its either dallas, san antonio, or houston. 3, 5, 6 hours away. so it will be a long drive. i have some friends that are diy tuners in town. but def not professionals.

Do you have an A/F gauge? If you do, try driving on the stock ECU and see if you can keep it at/near 14 when cruising. If you can, you will be fine for the drive. Otherwise get one of your DIY tuners to help you get the UTEC setup. You don't really need a base map to limp it to the tuner. Aside from reading the manual 100%, Put it in speed density mode with a cutover of 0psi, pull a bunch of fuel from the 1st column, and stay completely out of boost.
