Unhappy clutch losing pressure

whats up guys, lately i've been having problems with my clutch pedal losing pressure. It only seems to lose pressure when i'm getting on it and when i go to grab the next gear the pedal sticks to the floor but when i drive normal it seems to shift perfectly fine. Its an 06 with a momeomentum kit and competition stage 4 clutch along with a stainless steel braided clutch line. My guess is the slave cylinder maybe the car only has 27,000 miles on it so i have a hard time believing the slave is already bad, but maybe the stiffer pressure plate wore it much quicker?

Any other idea's of what might be wrong??

Start by looking for any leaks at the master or slave cylinder.

I would then bleed the clutch. If it still keeps losing pressure after bleeding then the master or slave might be bad.

Put the car on jack stands and get under the car to look at the clutch arm. Have someone push the clutch in and hold it down for a long period of time. If the clutch arm stays out then the master and slave should be ok. If the clutch arm slowly retracts from the pressure of the clutch plate (bleeds off) then the master or slave are leaking.

thanks binder, ill have to check for leaks. All summer I didn't have any problems with it, just started to have problems last time i was at the drag strip back in october I at first thought maybe the clutch line was getting to hot being that its right next to the down pipe. It may have some air I had a hell of a time bleeding the system after the stainless clutch line install, it took forever to get the air out.

you wont see any leaks, they leak internally. replace the slave cylinder. that the cheapest and easiest to do. If that doesnt fix, replace the master.

I had same issue and replacing the slave fixed it immediately.

force new fluid in at the slave up to the reservoir. best way to bleed since air wants to rise.

Rich is 100% right. I usually just replace both at the same time.

I had the same thing when I went over to my triple disc clutch setup... Replaced the slave and the problem was fixed.

I just replaced my master on my 05, which apparently have a common problem. Mine would engage though, it would just stick halfway back up. Replaced the master and put in DOT 5. I'd do both to be safe.

I also have the stainless line and CC Stg 4 clutch/NISMO fly.

How did your leaking slave not have fluid leaking from it? The seal keeps the fluid from the outside world so if the seal fails fluid should come out into the boot. At least mine did and on other vehicles I have worked on it did (actually just swapped one on an older escort last weekend).

interesting. I just don't see how it leaks past a single seal with one side fluid and the other side atmosphere and the fluid leaking doesn't go into the atmosphere/external.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen because you obviously replaced one that wasn't working and not leaking externally but I'm still confused where the fluid goes.

Sounds like heat to me, get some high temp brake fluid and bleed that sob. Also recommend adding SS cluch line.

alright guys thanks for all the helpful ideas of what might be wrong. sorry i didn't reply sooner just finally got some time to crawl under the car and see if i could see anything leaking which i unfortunately didn't so I'm gonna go ahead and try just changing the slave and see if that fixes it. I do have another question though is there any kind of stronger slave cylinder i can get aftermarket or factory off another car or something, trying to prevent this from happening again. Thanks
