Pull the plugs, read them. Do a compression test.

Anyways so update i ordered me a short block this morning got lucky and found one already built so i dont have to wait the few weeks for it to be built
Still have yet to diagnose the problem but all in all this was a plan for the future so i just took advantage of it and did it early, so as we tear into it ill be sure to keep everyone updated

Stage 2 short block

Eagle Rods
Wiesco Pistons lowered compression 8:8:1
Acl Bearings
Arp Main studs
Hr Gaskets and Head Studs

Also considering a Cam since ill be down there anyways not sure what a good one would be
if anyone has any experience with different cams feel free to share id love to know
and or opinions on getting a cam or not

thanks everyone for your support and help

~Ryan

Grats on getting a block ordered, hope it works out for you!

And I just listened to your video and that does not sound like a rod knock to me, that sounds nothing like the first video you posted of that other car w/ the obvious knock... That's more of a 'tick' than a knock... Not sure what it is but hell, a bit of duct tape, some gum and some spit woulda fixed that!

that is your injectors, almost 100% positive

I woulda put a stethoscope on them 1st before build a short block

+1

You need to check out what's actually the problem before you start throwing money at it.

Could be a 15 min fix.

Also I wouldn't just order a random built block, unless you know at least who the builder is, or the spec it was built to.

i thought it was injectors too especially since of my CrAzY a/f 's and hitting 10.0's on acceleration

another theory we are thinking is because of the amount i played with my boost controller i might have temporarily lifted my heads causing it to hydro lock and then after all the pressure re leaved itself i was able to start it again and perhaps a lifter was damaged in the process

but its hard to say untill we tear into it which we will do this weekened

as far as my block , block was built by Z1 and ordered from Z1 called to figure out how long it would take to build and they said they actually had built and could ship it whenever i was ready ( last friday )

Link to Block

the block then Arrived today at FedEx freight and and the ware house then called for confirmation to drop it off in the morning FedEx Freight

and yes i agree before throwing money at it it would be wise to check it out first but like i said earlier this was in my plans for the future anyway so i just took advantage of the situation and did it now

Although there are no lifters in a VQ... Would have to be something else, I am leaning towards injectors.

But having a built block for FI is a good thing so you will be happy in the end.
