I have decided to start my on thread to focus all the questions I have on the final stages if my build. Thanks to the members here who I have pm or answered my queries before, very much appreciated.
I got my V2 T trim from Dynosty with only 2.5k on the SC and was shooting for ~450/380 on my 70k stock block but then another opportunity arose and I picked up a complete running built engine that a lifting headgasket at high boost and 2000k +500whp for a good price. it has a good parts list and should've good for 600whp. My new goals are 500-550whp on a low reading dyno and because car is principally a track car it already has full engine bolt-on, suspension, brakes upgrades so with the Vortech I'm looking to build a setup that's responsive low down, minimal belt slip and as reliable as I can get on pump gas. Hence all the advice I can get.
I have got almost all the ancillaries I need and debating on a few things still.
Here is my setup
Engine as I got it. Not sure who built it:
-Wiseco 9.5:1 .020 over pistons
-Eagles rods
- OEM crank and pulleys
-JWT C8R cam with springs
-OEM valves with no head work.
-ARP L19s fasteners
-ACL race bearings
- IP billet main girdle
-Pathfinder mod
- Mishimoto thermostat
-Revup oil pump
The engine has be torn apart by Dynosty and apart from the failed OEM gasket is in good shape. The hone is not perfect
So Eddie has recommended reboring and honing to 030 over with custom CP pistons.
Final engine specs to be rebuild by Dynosty to their spec and fully assembled for shipping:
-CP 9.5:1 .030 over pistons
-Eagle rods
-ARP L19s
-JWT C8R cams and HD springs
- OEM or ?Ferea titanium retainers
-OEM or ?Ferea guides, viton seals, stock valves
-3 angle valve job
-? Porting
-IP billet main girdle
-Pathfinder cooling upgrade
-Nismo thermostat
-Fluidampr crank
Vortech and supporting mods list:
-Vortech V2 T trim blower
-2.87 vortech pulley
-34/32 cog setup (? Swap to 32/28 setup to get boost early)
- 928 BLV (not fitted yet but may do if I go for 32/28 setup)
- spearco 5-375 intercooler( adequate? Did not want to modify or remove crash bar)
- vortech race BPV
-ID 725cc
-CJM Stage 1 FRS
-Aeromotive 340lph pump
-Fluidampr pulley
-TS wrapped equal length headers ( **But looking for good price Crawford, momentum or nismo)
-Kinetix SSV V2
-Motordyne ART v2 Pipes
-Miltek catback exhaust. (same specs and design to nismo s tune **but looking for a used s tune or Motordyne or maybe just swap the y-pipe to XYZ and use the HFC module since as it seems to make more power(350z006 thread)
-setrab 19row oil cooler kit
- AAM pan spacer
- cosworth baffle kit
- HKS superfire plugs heat range 8
- eBay oil baffled catch can. (** looking for ARC V2)
- currently making a custom 1 piece intake tube with integrated MAF and CAI
- Uprev or syvecs plug and play ECU with tuneable TC maps.
** pm me if you have the items I'm after and would consider parting.
I am installing and tuning the kit on my stock block in 2 weeks or so time so I can iron out all the custom work, and tune while waiting for my build engine to arrive.
From what I have read here, I should be able to reach my +500whp. I would appreciate any contributions to achieve this.

Thanks. Can you elaborate please? My thinking is I could run an overspun blower set up to make boost early and bleed the excess when it corresponds to chosen max impeller speed. Is the not worth a try?
Any contributions to the questions below?
- I have been trying to find out if someone has really got a working 8 rib pulley setup with custom damper crank pulley
- With my 34/32 setup I'll be over-spinning at redline by 2k (assuming the t trim is 55k) and more with the 32/28 setup. Is the limiting factor on the T trim impeller the bearing or the impeller? Can I upgrade both or just the bearing? The ABEC 9 bearings from superchargerrebuilds.com are they genuine and would fit my blower? Contacted Carl @ 928 and they use vortech bearings for T trim rebuilds.
I need final confirmation for belts.
-Cog belt 600-8MGT-20? ( but got 560-8MGT-20 with the kit???!)
-Serp belt with fluidampr pulley K060930 as advices by yourself - thanks. ( K060910 came with the kit and not sure what crank pulley or belt set up the previous owner had.
-AC ? Stock size or longer belt ? Part no.
- should I consider a different belt set up or go with the proven revup setup first? Is there anything superior?
- Is the a preferential set up cc ventilation on a vortech setup? I was going to put a breather on the driver side vent and a baffled oil catch can between the passenger pcv and plenum intake. Or should I cap the plenum intake and vent the occ into the blower intake?

Nobody that I know of has done an 8 or 10 rib pulley setup.
Their are many versions of a T-trim.
If you have a modified V2 with a replacement T impeller, then it is a Standard V2
Is this what you have?
Vortech can also build Two Differnent Types of V2 T-trims, a standard and a H/D Version, but the H/D version still has Smaller Bearings that the V1 T-Trim ans is an H/D race blower.

I don't know anyone who has consistently gotten that blv to work properly; everyone I know who tried to use that blv with our setup just ends up taking it off because of it's inconsistency particularly during tuning...

So as my set up stands built engine on C8R cams, 2.87 pulley, 34/32 cog and fluidampr with standard revup belt layout should hit +500whp and overspining by 2-3k @7k with minimal belt slip?

If your still interested in a 928 BLV pm me. I have one that is brand new. Pretty much used it only to tune my z to the current numbers in my sig. Drove it one time and its back at the shop getting a full motor build.

I need to confirm the exact belts I need and get this puppy installed and tuned and see where am at wrt figures and take it from there.
You said you had a revup, right? Use the stock 560-8MGT-20; the 600 is for the non-revup kit I think and is too big...That should work for most of the cog combinations you want, except for the 34/28; the stock belt will be too big...
Stock AC belt will work fine with the fluidampr pulley...
I recommend Gates belts in general...
