plenty of coverage, you'll see…

stick with a kit that has been designed specifically for the Z - such as the greddy kit, don't piece-meal anything. Look to stay around 8 to 10 psi of boost and stay under 450whp unless you have the cash to build the block, get a dyno-tune and get a oil cooler too - something like a 10" x 6" is good...

Lol at replies.
Dang, been a member since 09 and don't know about 400hp yet? You can get a ST or supercharger kit and hit 400.

and I was thinking about this but if your kit doesnt include a set of higher-flow injectors consider upgrading to a 1cc - 1.5cc per whp desired (400whp = 400cc - 600cc injector). And if you have some extra money or can make it work look into a return style fuel system - CJ Motorsports make a good one.

I'd get something you can grow w also. Bc he will get bit by the-- I want more now that 400 gets boring. Ha. Prob go ahead an grab 600s for the setup. And of course op-read uo on it all and get all the good supporting mods for FI. And remember you have to "pay to play".

Again, why not read the already posted numerous of threads pertaining to ALL of your questions? That is the best way to get info. Everything has pretty much been tried and is out there to pick and choose what is best and what will fit your goals. If you're on any sort of budget, don't do it.

Same **** different day lol.

These questions crack me up since they have been answered at least a 100 times.

OP

Get the following:

Greddy 18g kit
CJM stage 1 return
Walboro fuel pump
EMS/with integrated boost and AFR readout (dependent on which shop you use, but haltech seems to be the choice these days. FCON was the ***** back in the day and i am not sure if it is still considered as the best option).
deatschwerks 600cc injectors.
Built bottom end if going over 400whp (Forged has a great price on short blocks)

I somewhat agree but that is kind of a broad statement since the term budget is pretty relative. If you are scrapping pennies together to purchase a setup then yes, FI is a bad option. If you are just being frugal with your purchases then there is no reason you can put together a nice reliable setup.

what is the average shop price and install time? I've been looking into forged not to far from me and their quote and estimated time was very impressive.

I payed $2,700 for machine work (including tear down, boring/honing, head work, and re-assembly/balancing). It took two months but the shop in MI that I had do it has been absolutely swamped. As for installation, I'm doing it myself so I couldn't tell you.

I got my built block from Import Parts Pro - I had a really good experience. They have 4 blocks pre-fab'd but Kyle will build anything for you. And if you need parts he is a great resource. Setrab makes great heat exchangers, you can buy a kit specifically for the VQ motor or you can piece one together(feel free to PM if you need help with it - I could give you a few ideas).

I would stay under 450whp if I were in your shoes (I say that and I went ***** deep with my build)…it's my opinion that you lose reliability when you go past 450whp.

Price will vary from shop to shop and obviously depend on what you have done.
