New Stillen SC Kit on my HR:
Trending Topics
Thanks guys, I'm kind of new to my town and I need to find out if any dyno shop/s around, otherwise I'm 100 miles from Vegas and I'm sure that there are plenty there. I am "very" impressed with this kit! My mechanic said that everything fit together perfectly (he races a lot and is impressed with the kit), but one hassle that you don't find out until later is that there has to be 4 little cuts out of some of the under structure of the hood for clearance. My car was pretty quick with my bolt ons, but in the 20+ hours that I've had this set up I haven't stopped grinning haha! Strong from the start up to the tripple digits; I need to get used to the higher speeds in shorter distances as you FI guys know and found out when you first went to FI. I would definitely recommend this new Stillen kit that uses the Vortech V-3. I will get #'s posted when I can; vid soon.

I've been calling around and may not be a dyno anywhere close, but I'll stay on it! This kit is very impressive and on my way to Vegas Wed. I had a chance to test it out for the first time on the open road; I easily passed my fastest ever and at 157 was still pulling nicely; that was enough for me on that day, but in a few seconds would have easily been mid 160's! It is impressive with so little effort and not even trying was doing little bursts like from 80-130 quickly, etc.

Doug's Dyno Power

Lots of other places too. Most of the car clubs and track guys just wait for a "Dyno Day" somewhere in town.

There's an air to water intercooler in the intake manifold. Look at the two coolant hoses on the front of the intake manifold.

This shows the intercooler:

*I should be in the 7.5-8+ psi. This set up is very quiet compared to other SC kits I've heard; the "whine" of the blower. This one is smooth power, pretty stealthy. I still need to get the wideband + boost sensors and gauges installed.

Yeah, there is a small intercooler in front of radiator, plus a heat exchanger inside of the manifold; all self contained. That little black box/container is coolant (seperate from engine coolant) that uses a small pump to circulate through the system. Compressor uses 4 oz. of a lube; drains out bottom of car through a tube plus there is a brass bolt dip stick on it also.

Anyways, centrifugal SCs don't whine. You're thinking of roots or twin screw type blowers. Centrifugal blowers, because of their similarities to turbos, should have a whistle/sucking noise. Surprised it's that quiet, actually.
