Default Remove factory Oil-Cooler or not?

Ive done some thinking...

I have TT on my car.. And i have some heating problems when i push ta car alot. (Trackdays etc).

The oil temp goes up way to high... So my first thought was that my big Setrap oilcooler that sists in the front might not do the job..
Maybe the airflow isnt good enough..

But today i was thinking about the Factory oil-cooler/heater..
When the car is cold.. It heats up the oil faster with the help of the warm water..
But then the idea is that it SHOULD help the oil to cold down with help of the warm water!?

So as i see it.. With my heatingproblems.. Ill do better withouth the factory oilcooler right?

or does it really do any good?

Do you use a oil thermostat sandwich with your big oil cooler? Its a must if your using a big oil cooler and have you upgraded the radiator?

I removed mine and replaced it with a sandwich plate that runs a small oil cooler, I plugged the coolant points and removed the hoses.

When did the prob. Start? When the weather started warming up or even you started tracking? Are your turbos water cooled and how high are your EGT getting. When the last time you burped your system? And Z1 gives the oil thermostat sandwich option at the bottom of that link.

I have always had oil-heating problems on track. Ive used my car on track for almost 8 years now. And after the Turbos came on then of course it got worse.
So there havent been any effekts of the Setrab oilcooler. thats why my fokus have been on that one at first.

No the turbos are aircooled. Its the GReddy kitt.
I do i fully service on my car every 5000 kilometers and this time it was only 1300 kilometers since the last service. After every track day i change all the fluids.

The EGT gets very hot to on the straight lines where i push the car for high speeds. I have a warning sound on my gagues that warns me about 950 celcius and they go off all the time on the straight lines when i push it to the revline in 5th-6th gear.

and cant say if i have the option with the thermostat or not actualy =(

Remove the factory oil cooler warmer. It's recommended; it doesn't work well. Most of the time a lot of junk builds up in them and it just makes your oil warmer. Next, maybe add another oil cooler if it's not cool enough. Just run them in parallel if you have a thermostat controlling the system.

If you have a DE just get the HR oil bolt thing. Just look up oil cooler warmer removal and you should find a DIY how to.

Yeah, if the oil isn't going over 250F I wouldn't even think twice about it.

That's what I was about to say, NA with an oil cooler I hit about 260 degrees. My latest mod is actually a fan mounted to the oil cooler, I don't think it was getting the best of airflow.

Oh yes sorry!
I looked at some old notes now

95 celcius is normal streetdriving and 130-140 celcius on track!! THATS the problem!
And the only one i can compare my car with is another GReddy TT guy here in sweden, And he claims that his car only get up to 110 celcius on track.
