Default Open Exhaust for Drag Racing Only

I made some Turndowns for the Drags.

With full Exhaust everything is working fine.

With Open Exhaust Car runs Great, But every time I would get into the Throttle I'd get a SLIP Light, with VDC OFF and No codes. When I'd restart the car it would clear.

Anybody Know what is going on?

Thanks,

TimRod

must be burning the tires off so bad that its causing the abs to fault out. But thats perfect for the drags. blessing in disguise.

i had turn downs as my only exhaust for over a year and never experienced any issue with ABS. that system is totally independent.

There wouldn't be any normal ECU codes... Check for ABS codes. My guess is wheel speed sensor..

Why would it only do it when I have open headers?

Vibration? Who knows. Check your brake fluid level. 9 times out of 10 those lights mean low fluid and I don't think it throws an ABS code either.

Not the same symptom, but the shop I work with , had a customer's 2003 Z roadster deploy it's passenger side air bag during an open header dyno run a few years ago. So that Vibration did false trigger a BCM action. So there could be some relation ?

Really unlikely, but could it be that the TINY extra bit of power you're getting is "the straw that breaks the camel's back" and trips whatever sensor?

My first guess would've been vibration, also. Did you ever figure out the cause?

Vibration is the only thing I can come up with, as the exhaust exits right at the rear of the Trans, very close to the Yaw Sensor.

The good news is that it shouldn't affect your E/T

Ya, I just wanted to understand what was going on, as I don't want to worry about any funky problems at the Drags.

Thanks for everyones help!!!
