Default bought a greddy twin kit 18g or 20gs?

so I bought a greddy twin kit a month ago off this forum I spoke to the guy I bought the kit from and he listed it and said it was the 18g kit... well I took the car to get tuned and I hit high numbers at low boost they said I might have 20g turbos just looking to see if anyone else had this kit and made the same numbers.....

I never had the Greddy kit, but those numbers look normal to me. I'm sure the owner of the kit wouldn't sell you a 20g advertising it as an 18g kit. Which shop told you this?

Numbers look normal to me. I believe alberto made north of 700whp with 18G's. 20G is for big big boost.

those numbers are normal. before i moved to the 20g kit, my 18gs made 467rwhp at 9psi SAE Dynojet stock engine.

BTW the 20g kit comes with full downpipes that go from the turbo all the way to the catback exhaust. the 18g kit has little cast elbows that fit between the turbo and factory cats or test pipes.

The 18g kit has the wastegates mount directly to the manifolds and recirculates into the downpipe adpaters.

The 20g kit relocates the wastegates off extension tubes, and vents them atmosphere.

This.

I made 420whp at 8psi

How messed up is it to have to change your boost controller and your map on the steering wheel.....would freak me out not know which map you may be on.

agreed. one map for all boost levels. id only use maps for things like alternate fuels, conservative versus aggressive map, valet map, launch control map.

Looks normal to me. Nice numbers. How much did all of that set you back in terms of the cost of the kit, any extras you had to buy, cost of install and cost of tune? Thanks.

yeah I thought it would be one map but they set it up that way....one is conservative (daily) and 2nd is aggressive only to be used here and there

yep, kinda weird having different boost level maps. I have 2 maps (pump and race gas) both handle the full range of boost.

In retrospect - thats 'relatively' inexpensive … you probably could have spent another $1k to $1500 more on the same install.

rough numbers from my supercharger back in the day $6k for the kit, $1k for the tuning, $700 for autometer gauges, $300 oil cooler…obviously not apples to apples but a comparison...

So $5,520 total? That's not bad at all for a TT kit installed and tuned even if it is used. Nice work.

even with all those items you are still about right and you have a pretty inclusive setup.
