interesting post from scott porter racing
seems like factory pistons are actually pretty damn stout if your using e85 or race gas so rods really are the only weak part of the vq35
The new SPR dragster licencing was completed yesterday with the first 2 full passes being:
6.85@196 and 6.71@203.... Factory crank and pistons, rods, heads, cams and turbos from the very first times that we ran the Infiniti.... Can't wait to put some power in it this weekend at Jambo with a good motor!!!
Prep day today to test the Infiniti tomorrow with the second brand new 4.0 litre combo, new heads etc etc
We'll get some footage of the test passes up soon.....

thats what i read it as is stock pistons and crank and then they took the rods, heads cams and turbos from a previous setup. i know they use factory casting de heads granted they without a doubt have some massive work done to them. i asked though just to see lol
i mean honestly though have we ever seen anyone break a stock piston outside of severe det?

*shrug* see if they answer since thats the only way we will know for sure, with two ands in the sentance it seems to me they used a comma instead of a semi colon. there is definitely a type somewhere its either a semi colon or the second and in the sentence
even if they are most people will still need aftermarket for any significant amount unless they intend to run large amounts of meth or run e85

actually take that back in the same post i quoted from they commented they use a lenco transmission, so much for everyones "all the fastest people run automatics" lol
Yeah factory crank, the pistons and rods and stuff must be from the first build.
Still scott porter is someone to look up to for us street car guys lol. Wonder what rods/pistons and sleeves.... I thought I read somewhere that they pushed the oem blocks to the six second range before then switched to billet blocks, but I'm not sure if they had sleeves put in (really assuming yes)
