Default Fuel question for those of you who are boosted

Hello, I have a powerlab single turbo kit on my 03 and I have yet to install the injectors and fuel pump. I have a walbro 255 and was wondering if those of you who installed the same pump for boost modified the housing, swirl jet mod, etc ?? I see a nice write up on how to do it, I just was wondering if it's necessary, input from others who are boosted would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does the fuel pressure regulator need upgraded or can you run the stock one ? I don't plan on making more than 375hp and if I can use the stock one then that will save me some money for the time being.

As always, thanks in advance !!!!

yes its necessary, otherwise your base fuel pressure will be up around 80psi

and unless you were doing a return system, there is no fuel pressure regulator that you can change/adjust

I did the mods that "phunk" posted http://blog.cj-motorsports.com/2011/...tallation.aspx because I was told that you need to do that no matter what to get the pump to fit in the housing securely. As for the swirl jet mod and regulator modification, it's so that you can run your stock fuel pressure regulator and easier for your tuner.

Also, I'm doing a similar set-up and I believe we're ok with the stock fuel pressure regulator until around 400whp. Hope that helps.
