Default oiled plug issue, question for techs?

Greetings,

The shop installing the Vortech on my Z pulled the stock plugs with 18k miles. Cylinder 6 plug had a small amount of detonation evidence and #1 plug had an oil film on it.

I'm looking for opinions on what the oil may be from. I'm a little worried, from what I've read it could be trouble: "This is often caused by piston rings or cylinder walls that are badly worn."

I probably won't check the board until later tonight so if you have questions they won't be answered until much later.

Install should be done tomorrow. l'll post a picture or two and dyno by Monday at the latest.

Thanks for your insight.

are you sure it was oil?......if you turn the engine off at just the right time, the number one cylinder could have just taken in some some gas and not had a chance to fire it

what did the number 6 look like?......was it white?......or reddish white?.......if it was, that means its burning lean in that cylinder, but doesn't necessarily mean detonation occured

if you're absolutely sure that it was oil on the plug, then you have problems.......get a compression and leakdown test to make sure
