I think it is Forged. That airport is just very scary and ultimately stupid, I mean the runway itself isn't designed for anything landing faster than 80mph. The Ruts on it are terrible and the run off is not the best. Im used to playing on runways like this Ive been racing on them sice I was a kid but its still not a good idea. There are better fields available and I think that the Top Dawg should be given to a Z/G chassis. GTRs are not Zs. This is ZDAYZ not GTR Days. If someone like Z1 or another shop that can draw 240Z, 260Z, 280Z and Z31,32,33 &34s that would be a much more diverse fun event. As it sits its more like a shop pissing contest with maybe 2 or 3 big money players. I think actually having a real drag event at a real track would be more worthwhile than the airstrip.
If someone wants to do the ZDAYZ 2014 Top Dawg event, having it at Knoxville Dragway is a significantly better idea! Also I would make it a 2 day deal. Its less than 2 hours from the village and a much better environment to show what we can really do on a prepped proper track.

You guys should look into the GA half mile races they have in September. I've been out there twice in a place called Heavens landing. It's a private airport but it's big enough for guys to hit over 200mph there. Always a huge turnout and lots of high powered cars.
Yeah it Is more legit but you are limiting your potential entrants
fire jackets
helmets
cages
drives haft loops
battery cut off
a lot of big builds don't have those parts.

Yeah.... part of it is a safety deal too ...this "big builds" area incomplete if they're looking to play on the track... those things are there for a safety reason... you yourself mentioned valid concerns
Looks like in the level on "street racing" safety concern... what other fields are close by?

KAVL is the best option but it has a scheduled carrier so the fees might be much higher or impossible to coordinate, there is Gatlinburg's airport as well its a little bit longer and a much nicer grade of pavement.
But As for the tech items as long as you keep the traps turned off you can bypass some of the nhra legalities of tech. We do it here in Cincy for your StreetWars & Friday Night Lightz. No times just racing. But a full pit, lots of prep and real event. Also there is a bit of a tech, fast cars will need sometime like a cage, etc etc
