So, in the quest for more and more power, and in my case a larger margin for error, lower temps, and a precautionary tear-down as a response to an unknown noise I am building another motor for the Z. This has been in the works for some time and I should be up and running by ZDAYZ this year. The biggest changes were the cams, ferrea valvetrain and the highest end Carillo Hardware. Otherwise ill be sticking to a fresh block and crank with .020 over pistons.
Block Specs:
Carillo Rods With Pro Bolts
CP Pistons
ACL Pro Bearings
ARP L19s
ARP Mains
Dynosty Billet Girdle
Dynosty HG
Rev-up Oil Pump
Head Specs:
Tomei 272 Cams
Ferrea Ti Springs & Retainers
Ferrea Ti Valves
OEM valve seals
Turbo Setup:
BP 6766 Twin Scroll
Momentum Manifolds
Cosworth Intake
Haltech Pro Platinum
Haltech Boost Control
Haltech Dual Wideband
Haltech E85 Flex Fuel
AEM Fuel Pressure to Haltech
AEM Oil Pressure to Haltech
Fuel System:
TBD
I will continue to update this post with more information as it becomes available. I will also post pictures of updates. Also the fuel system is the last area for change as I figure my new goals is fuel.
I would like to thank the guys at Dynosty and Sasha for patience and helping me decide between abandoning the Z and a new motor.

Yes the Dynosty Headgasket is a pretty perfect option for those who want something better than the cometic without the cost of the cosworth.
It wouldn't have been a vette... I am not sure on what to expect for power. I guess it'll depend on fuel and tuning. The best answer would be MOAR!

There is not any more room for a larger snail, I have already massaged things to get it to fit. I was looking at 2011-2012 Maserati Granturismo S. I love a FR GT car. I had one for an extended test drive and if it hadn't been for me getting married I'd have purchased it.

Good to hear Don...looking forward to the results with this build. If there is anything you need with regards to the kit, just let me know.
I think with all the upgrades on your head, you may be close to 600whp on the DD at Dynosty on pump gas (from memory, I think you made 560whp there already with the old set-up). That would be awesome...I think Hal made just a bit over 600whp on his GT42 powered Z way back in the day.
Too bad that Precision doesn't offer the 7276 in a twin scroll configuration.

10:1 compression I hope! When I refresh, I am def going 10:1 or 10.5:1

OP, +1mm OSV is really a waste of money man for the power output you'll be making. Crap even with my twin 67mm I'm using stock size valves.

I have full supertech right now, used them in many builds without any problems. However, I think on this new head I'll most likely make the switch, all because the guy doing my head knows their product a lot better than I.
OP, I'm definitely staying tuned to the thread.

Stock sized valves, stock porting, and basic 3 angle.
I chose the Tomei over Kelford for only two reasons, price and lead time. The Tomei are 780 a set shipped and have a very good reputation and similar cam profile to the Kelfords. The Kelfords are also flawless but are more expensive and take 6-8 weeks which is time I do not have. I also wanted to try something different. If I can make just as much power on the Tomei and they are as high quality as the Kelfords it would really put a strain to drop the prices on Kelford.
Ferrea was chosen by Dynosty. They say they have very good results with that setup on stock sized valves. I trust their judgement on this.
The pistons I have now are 9:1 I am going to keep those and run new rings. I only have two corn stations within 30 min of me. I hope to be on pump most of the time so the lower comp is a big factor.
Also we are not sure until I get the results but it looks like one of eagle rods may have failed. It is showing discoloration and possible stress fractures. The engine oil apparently was clean though, so the bearings and rest of the motor was intact...

Yep kelford 272s (no driveability issues at all), ferrea +1mm valves. All the components were selected by Dynosty (Hal and Ed). Ferrea I believe is more expensive than supertech but I don't know enough about either to make a statement about quality.
