Default Jaxter - the single life

Last December I blew my stock HR over-spinning a Vortech with a SI impeller. So, JTran built my motor with Carillo rods and Arias 10:1 pistons. They got me back on the road and I put 1000 miles on the new motor in about a month. We decided the supercharger was not going to make the power I was looking for. They sold my SC and all of the components I would no longer need. About two months ago we started ordering parts for a low-mount single turbo........and here it is.

There have been a couple of revisions along the way. The car should hit the dyno tomorrow morning. Looking for about 8-10 psi to get us started. That's probably all my fuel system can support.

Well it's an automatic......

Which is understandable in Houston.

Is it a BP single?

Excellent looking Z.

Thanks guys. It seems like the HR 5at got skipped over. So it's an all custom setup made in-house by JTran. They have been making them for 4-5 years.

Johnny worked on the tune today but could only run the car to 5200 rpms. The combination of 10:1 compression, 93 octane, 100 deg temps, and 12 psi was causing pre-detonation. They ordered a set of colder spark plugs and will regap and try it again Monday. The car made 400hp/456tq at 5200. We will hopefully see a full run Monday.

Factory redline. The heads were disassembled and cleaned up, but are still stock cams and springs. And we used a new stock oil pump. So not going for big Revs.

It took about two months. We were waiting for the turbo to show up. It was supposed to be in stock, but actually took over a month for precision to build it. Johnny and Ron ended up deciding to go with a PT7075 instead of a GT40 like we planned in the first place. I'm not even sure why. Probably availability.

The HRs still have the same Jatco 5at as the DE. The 3.7L got the 7at. Mine is fully built, with a cooler and Transgo. I hope it can handle whatever power we end up with at 12 psi. I'm going to keep it at this power level until I decide on a replacement transmission.

Default 5at

lol..duh..was thinking about the 370 not 350 hr..who built the trans? Looks like your in the same boat as me..running a haltech? I've had issues with speedo, cruise ctrl with the redbox haltech.

Jtran seems to be a group of hard working guys....wish I had gone the way of your build..single vs tt..at least with a 5at.

I'm still running Uprev. I don't know of anyone that has made a Haltech work on a HR 5at. Johnny has got one in the shop and is going to hook it up once we are done and see if it works. I'm not in any hurry, because I don't want to push this Trans any harder than we already are. The next stage will be Trans swap, EMS, and a Radium surge tank. But I'm not in any hurry.

Not really. The entire shop is like an ongoing inside joke. Mostly sexual harassment.

Dyno today. 17 psi.
Laid over the 12 psi run that could not make it to redline a few days ago. The picture sucks but it looks to be 17 psi somewhere around 4500-5000 rpms. I'm impressed.
