Default Looking for a solution for the cracked greddy manifold???

So the time has come to address the cracked greddy manifold I have. Just got done pulling the manifolds off. Was gonna have them fixed (welded) but it's seems worse the. I thought. Now I'm tossing around getting new ones but I heard that buying parts like this from greddy sucks!!! Anyone have any suggestions or can direct me to a company I can go through that I know can help me? Thanks for any help anyone can give me!!!

I would just bring them to an exhaust shop and get them welded.

That was my plan but from what I'm hearing it has to not only be done Rt there is a certain way cause it is cast. Idk and the crack is pretty bad it runs all the way around In between the flange and the pipe. Gonna be a real task if someone can get In There. Don't get me wrong if I can I would much rather do that. Just trying to have all backup plans in order. I have a lot of things to address while I have the motor out

That sucks. Looks like a passenger side. Are you on stock motor mounts? If so...get solid.

There is a guy trying to produce these in SS tubular but I bet they will be like 1800 or more.

The trick to welding cast iron is to grind out the weld, pre heat and weld past the crack. That is a large crack so it may not be salvageable.

I know. I don't want to accept it but I think I need to start. Lol. I have seen the guy u r talking about but I can't find the post anymore. I was going to message him. Smh bout the price. That is insane. This bill is starting to rack up fast and my **** is done already. Motor fully built I mean. I feel like I'm building another and I'm just buttoning up some loose ends. I'm gonna try and. All greddy tomorrow but just from what I read bout them I'm probably going to him a dead end. What do u do in a situation like this? Do u know where the post is about them ss manifolds?

Btw yes passanger side and stock mounts. What does solid mounts do for that? The movement of the motor? Guess it stops the stress on the manifolds?

Jeremiah Heidner is the guy on FB.

The passenger turbo sits close to the unibody. If the engine rocks too much there could be contact between the turbo and body which would put stress on the manifold. Not to mention the exhaust weight.

**** for the price of the kit they should send you a new one for free. But im sure they will probably sell you one for hefty fee. Did you buy the kit new? You could call the vender you used.

from what I have heard, greddy stopped production of the HR kit for the same reason and may not have any manifolds to sell. Easiest way is to contact them and find out.

Jeremiah seems like a great guy. He seems to have a LOT on his plate.

He mentioned developing billet valve covers as well as as a bad a$$ oil pump.

I wonder if it would be meaningful enough to Sasha? Anyone buds with him?

Default manifolds

Tim Richards at speed force racing in Santee CA CAN make these...I have already spoken with him and posted this as such months ago somewhere. call him. seems like he said 1000.00...I don't remember if that's a set or each but he's not TOO pricy...does great work. he can replicate greddy, GTM etc..already asked him about doing a set of GTM's when mine break (cast always do).

So I started this with hopes I would get some feed back on a solution. Well I did. I got some feed back that was good. At the end of the day I broke down and bought new manifolds. I will say I am gonna have the cracked on fixed and I will post up eventually pics of the finished weld. I just went knew for a piece of mind. If this one cracks I will have a back up. Lol

In addition to the solid motor mounts.....guys are adding Flex pipe after the manifolds to further lessen stress.

Price ran me $700 for both. Had to buy as a set. Eta is about a week they say. I called greddy directly. So did it last night just waiting for a tracking number. Said they were being sent out today. As far as the flex pipe. Yea I know. I would like to do that myself. I just need to figure out how I'm gonna swing that one. My down pipes are aam 3 inch but not 3 all the way. Off turbo they are obviously standard size. So I need to figure out / find a flex that will fit and figure how I'm gonna do it cause they are a ***** to get off when motor is in car. Like to do it while it's out but it will never line up to rest of exhaust when I put the drive train back in with everything on it. Idk one thing at a time. I gotta pull my heads to fix the leaky head gasket. I'm working from inside the motor to the outside lol
