Default Need Some help on cams. Jwt s7 or c8.

Hey guys. So I'm looking for any kind of help I can get here on cam selection. I'm in the process of building my motor. My last build consist of a fully built motor and was running the s7 cams. After talking to a few people ( jwt and Kyle at ipp) I'm getting mixed reviews. My question is, is it worth the money upgrading to the c8 cams on a twin turbo build? Is it worth the money and will I see the midrange pwr they talk about? Any input and advice is very appreciated. I tried to research but didn't have much luck or to much feedback. Thanks in advance

Call up JWT if you want the best source. More midrange to be had with the less aggressive cams (like the S7). The more aggressive cams target higher rpms. As I recall C8 is a race cam. You will make more peak power, but hardly worth it if you already have the S7 imo.

Thanks. I talked to jwt the other day and a tech was not to clear other then I will see more mid range and top end. I'll have to give them a call again and see if I get a better response. I also was told the c9 was the race cam. Also have to do modifications to the heads Thanks again bud

^Are you still going to run 18g twins? Assuming you are I would think the shorter duration and shallower lift (as compared to C8) will have less of an effect under boost...

Was going to but things have shifted. Upgrading to the 20g. Motor is getting total redone again. Cp Pistons Carrillo rods. Since I have to get a new head I'm getting heads totally done as well. Ported polished valve job. This is mainly why I was trying to see if the c8 cams would benefit me with what I'm doing as of now. I searched high and low to get feedback from others to see what there experience has been but didn't get to far. Seems not a lot of info from guys that ran c8 or even a s7 then went to c8. Just trying to see if it's even worth it or not.

Are you getting something from Kyle at IPP? I do think your valves will be the bottle neck but even if your 20g blowers can flow massive amounts of air through the C8s will the built block be able to handle the increase airflow of the 20g and the flow of the C8...

If it was me (and unless you won powerball) I'd roll with the C7 ... put the $1000 towards something else.

Nah. No power ball here. Lol Tried but no luck so yes that's what I think I'm leaning toward. I know there is gonna be other things pop up I'm not accounting for as well.
