If 3-4psi extra are really heating the head and block up a lot, then you are probably on the edge of what you can hold reliably (before det).

If anything running richer (like what RC said, switching to different fuel, ethanol for example) might help.

I don't think that would be a good solution. I think as a few people have said your cooling system just can't dissipate the heat.

also, ensure all the stock radiator ducting and undertray is still present.
otherwise all that air entering the bumper at speed will go the path of least resistance.

Next option for me now is, Bigger rad, slim fans, and a map tweak to run a small amount richer.

Hoping this will sort my issues.

Can anyone else recommend a slim fan set up for the Koyo 53mm rad apart from the mishimoto one?? Thats Cheap and easy to get in the UK but Ive not heard massively good reviews??

Ah now i see why you posted on my thread. Over heating suxk do bad.

Any luck with what u been trying ?

I have dual pass mishimoto oil cooler, 25 row with thermostatically controlled sandwhich plate.

It has its own cooling path off to the side of the fmic

The 53mm koyo rad has a ebay fan shroud that i replaced the fans it come with , and used 2x 12" curved blade spal fans. Not sure of model type as they came.with my radiator 2nd hand. They came with factory plugs so i dont know if i have two stage speed??

Water wetter and pure distilled water right from engine rebuild

At 75F ambiant temp and highway driving both 180F.
As water starts to get hotter My oil temps are usually 20F LESS then water.

Im using a lower temp.thermostat and im thinking of going back to factory but prettt sure i overheated like u are with that too.. water pump is new, well 2000km old ish.

So far i have taken off swirl.pot , on a 93F day normal.driving.with ac on temps got to 215F for.water and with oil a bit less.have not tested track like conditions with no swirl pot yet.

I do use weather stripping foam between the shroud and rad, rad and ac condenser, condenser and rad support. But not fmic and ac condenser.

I do use rad cooling plate but no under engine plastic tray.

Im going to radiator shop Tuesday to see if they can figure it out

I used ebay one. But the holes are bit small for 12", i have about 1" of metal blocking the edge of the fans blades.

But a friend modified his rad support so his 54mm rad sat right inside the rad support and i was thinking if i did that i could fit the stock shroud fans in

as an update.... I have since switched to evans on my setup (koyo rad).... actually all 3 of my "fun" cars have been converted to evans. If I were tracking the car, I would simply add an oil cooler.
