Default Turbine A/R

Good evening.
In the middle of a custom turbo kit with 5757 turbos .48a/r and wanted to get opinions on whether or not theyll be restrictive in the upper RPMs.
I've Kelford 272 camshafts and valve train.....looking to make 500whp pump revving to 7500rpm.

A single 5757 with that small A/R I don't think will make 500 to the wheels. Lots of variables of course. I think you might hit 500 at the crank, maybe 450 wheel?

What I was taught (for the most part) was in most applications of max power, bigger a/r is almost always better.

Of course some set ups are different but a bigger a/r will probably be better.

With my 6266 scroll kit I opted For one of the biggest a/r's avalible by recommendation of the builder of the kit. So far I'm not disappointed with my base line tune.

My second touch up appointment is this Saturday.

He is talking twin 5757's with T3 .48 A/R turbines. That combo should get you 650whp on pump gas all day long.

lol, well single vs twins is definitely different. When he said aftermarket header, I figured it was a single.

Hey at least I clearly stated "single"; and why would anyone be wondering about twins turbos with 75mm compressor wheels making 500 whp??? Those turbos are rated like 550 hp (each!).

The concern wasn't whether it'll make the power, it's whether or not the power band will continue to 7500 rpm with .48ar
