Default Stroker Twin turbo DE

Hiya chaps.

So I bought an 04 in December. I really got it for a great deal. Yes, there are issues. On the start up it smokes a boat load and kinda clears when it warms up. But smokes more on when you hit the gas. Motor sounded smooth. So I thought it wouldn’t be so bad....

BOY WAS I WRONG.

The car car was sent to a specialist locally. And the nightmare was discovered.

Motor was stripped down for inspection as a pre caution. Thankfully.

Found that the pistons were causing the smoking. On piston has the oil control ring completely missing. Another 2 pistons had the oil rings overlapping. This caused scoring of the sleeves. So we tried a light hone, but it wasn’t cleaning. So we had to re bore another 020. So the new piston size has gone to 98.5mm. Bearings weren’t in bad shape, but seeing as the motor is open, we decided to fit a new set bearings. Previous owner had dual valve springs fitted with oversized valves. Also fitting BC Star 3 cams. But I had to buy a new set as originally the cams were broken on an inlet cam, so they replaced factory inlet while using Stage 3 exhaust with the dual springs. I’m assuming that caused issues too. But the exhaust cams were badly scored when we inspected. So the new set was purchased.
Turbos are getting a full re con.

I’ll give you the list of parts fitted......

Brian Crower stroker Kit w/ pistons at 98.5mm
Brian Crower Stage 3 Cams
GTM stage 2 twin turbo kit
Ferea 1mm oversized in/exhaust cams
OS Giken Triple Plate Clutch
Upgraded input shaft
HKS exhaust
Kinetix Velocity intake
Larger throttle body
D2 Coilovers
External Wastegates

It’s been a bigger cost than expected to get the motor right, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

Currently still waiting on pistons, then the motor can be assembled. A few extra things will be done when the motor is in.

If if anyone has experience with the above setup, or similar. Can you give any insight to what possible power figures are expected?

No idea what I’ll be looking at. Will only see once the car is on the rollers for tuning.

Will post up once i get more info.

Looking forward to the future.

Thanks chaps
