Romraider is a opensource free tuning software, there is a dedicated forum for Nissan tuning, however its pretty extent and my knowledge on how to tune is limited, but what I do know is that it has a logger but you have to buy openport 2.0,
I dont have to worry about emissions testing, I guess im going to have learn how to tune with romraider because free is good
I'm mildly informed about Romraider - not against it but it is what it is...it's basically a reflash of OEM capabilities?

Really look at Haltech, Link, and AEM ... it will make your life much much better. If you tune with Uprev or Opensource than you are limited to what the OEM ECU can do and can control.
Link, Haltech, AEM will give you many many many tuning and driving features that are a far-cry of the OEM ECU.

stand alone ecus are so expensive, unless you can pick one up used for a decent price,
They are expensive...but it's money well spent. If something goes wrong with a piggyback or a flash (that a standalone would have caught) than it's pennywise / pound foolish
what are your power goals for the car? what do you want to do with the car after it's all wrapped up?
Link G4+ is $1,300
Haltech Platinum $2,100
Haltech Elite $2,500
AEM Infinity $2,400
gotta pay to play!
Dynosty might be a good place to get a used haltech that is as reliable as a new one.
430 to 450hp? You probably didn't have to build your block... 450hp is probably 10 to 12psi of boost.
If you want to go on the less expensive side of things than go with Uprev. Its a very good tuning platform and a great value and very good support from the tuning community. The downside is that is uses OEM / early 2000s technology and wont necessarily have all the features of the bigger brands.

youre definitely right I think the stock block maxes out at 450hp but for longevity and that im eventually going to up the hp down the road that's why i chose to rebuild the block,

I hear ya! and you will want more power at some point … and with your setup you'll easily hit 500 to 550, possibly 600 on that setup … and, I don't know about you, but I enjoyed re-building my engine - so good-on-ya!
since you like numbers … a rough estimate of power based on boost is: approximate whp = 250hp + (20hp per 1psi of boost)
"I hope Im not coming off as mr know it all" my knowledge of turbocharging is pretty limited, and yes Ive been having fun learning what will work with what, and what I have to get next,
its taking me like a year and half to learn how to tig weld and do fabrication
its taking me time to save the money to buy what I need,
plus all the information I had to learn to turbo,
I was starting from scratch I knew nothing about turbos

You? mr. know-it-all? nah - you're good ... if you hang around long enough you'll see newbs come in with the wrong attitude and get bumm bumm hurt when members with the knowledge base and experience tell them what they dont want to hear.
and when Travlee thanks you for not being a doucher ... wow! world must be coming to an end!
get through your build and you'll have a great knowledge base and a great experience base - especially seeing that you've done your build from scratch.
thanks to the boys over at romraider nissan forum for all there help with learning how to dump and flash my rom, and the hard work they do over there, and a big thanks to pytrex for all the help
New to this thread, cool project. Learn by doing works if you take the time to read, do the research, and ask others questions. Pretty much how I am doing it, but have not broken out a tig welder yet. LOL. Hope to get some basic welding skills in at some point.
