What size injectors with sts single turbo? Boost controller?
hey everybody, I have a 2006 Nissan 350z. It’s all stock except for the body kit. I’m about to order the STS single turbo kit from andyautosports and I’m also wanting to go to larger injectors. I have stock internals so I’m not really looking to go over 400whp. I believe the stock injector size is 330cc? I could be wrong. Can someone tell me what fuel pump should I get? Also, where should I buy a boost controller and how hard is it to install? I am mechanically inclined and will be installing the system myself, but this is my first Z. I will be getting a professional tune after my installation. Any information is appreciated! Thanks.
Hey bud - welcome to the forum ... I would find other similar builds and read / research what others have done with success. You'll get a feel for what you'll need to do. All these questions will be answered in just about everyone's thread. With that being said, feel free to continue to ask questions in your thread.
And use a single thread for all your build stuff ... dont create multiple threads and update your thread consistently and take a bunch of pictures.
To answer your questions - you'll want a 255lph fuel pump at an absolute minimum. But consider a 320lph (Deatchwerks makes a good one), or a walbro TI 450lph or a Walbro TI 525(hellcat pump). Any of these will fit into the OEM fuel basket with a little modification and there are DIY/tutorials on how to do this.
You'll want something in the 500 to 600cc range to maximize an OEM block. If you think you'll go get a built block later on in life than consider a 1000cc to 1500cc injector size. Furthermore, a 1000cc injector will have better resale value while a 500-600cc injector wont. And you may be able to find a used set of 600cc injectors - just have them flow tested and cleaned before they go into your car.
How are you going to tune? what tuning platform are you going to use? Your choices will be Uprev, Haltech, Link AEM ... haltech piggy back and Uprev will likely be your best bet. A Link G4+, Haltech or AEM standalone will be everything you want but will be more money. You may not need a boost controller if you get a Haltech, Link, AEM as they have this feature built in.

Thanks you for the reply! Very useful information for me. I have been thinking about forged internals later down the road but I really can’t decide, it’s a lot of money. I may just go with 600cc injectors as of right now then. I will also check out the full pumps you mentioned. And I have a local tuner who is awesome. He tuned my LS3 and a lot of my buddys cars.
and you'll want to read Conway's build thread ... some good content and some good experiences (albeit some of them shitty - but hat tip to getting back on the horse)
Honestly 100$ for that small fuel kit is cheap as hell.
Don’t forget the small stuff like colder plugs, oil cooler, and some good maintenance to have the build in good starting shape.

Also, have you all, or anyone you know, ever ran the rear mounted turbo? I had never heard of this until I started researching turbo kits for the Z
