ok i installed the e-o1 on my car i only have one question. the greddy tt kit says to connect the side ports of the wastegate to the nipple on the intake manifold. the top ports are used for boost controller. ok well when you install the e-01 to the top ports of the wastegate to you have to unplug the side ports going to the intake or leave it on still? this e-01 controller is a bit confusing to me. it has to learn before you can set boost? i thought you can jus install it and set boost am i missing somthing here?
These wastegates are weird, I have never seen anything like this. Basically it wants an actual signal line not modified by the boost control solenoid on the side. And then a signal that IS modified by the solenoid on the top. So just connect a line from the intake manifold to the side ports on the wastegate, and then a line from the intake manifold to the boost control solenoid, and then to the top ports of the manifold.
The profec, like other boost controllers modifies the signal to the wastegate by dumping off pressure with the solenoid. The amount it dumps is controlled by how fast the solenoid oscillates. So the higher the duty cycle the less pressure reaches the wastegate and the more boost the turbo will build.
The profec will allow you to input the duty cycle yourself (manual mode) or you can give it a boost pressure to run and it will auto learn the duty to achieve the desired boost level. (Automatic mode)
