My 2 cents...
AA sux from a business stand point. Seems everytime I went in there some customer was throwing a hissy fit because they got screwed on a deal or install. They didn't blow my motor and seemed helpfull in followup after the install.

Curry's Auto near Dulles did my stop tech brakes. Very professional and competent and I'd recommend them. Better business men I'd say, and they even paid for a rental for the day.

AA did my Procharger install and I have had no problems with it at all. They did take a bit longer than they said it would take and since I live about 3.5 hours away from them, that kind of sucked but otherwise, the car is great.

Dont let Altered Atmpsphere touch ur car. My friend Stealth was done by them and he didnt have anything but problems. They told him they will fix it, and after 10 months of waiting. They told him ur old fuel system is the problem and sold him another fuel system and installed for a total of 3200. Ofcourse it was a scam and they never got it right. He ended towing his car to the dealer to get it fixed. So bascially, dont take ur car there.
Another funny thing they do, is that they dont like to run cars in 4th gears because it will take too long to finish the dyno run ROFLMAO.

3rd gear in all cars. At least what i have witnessed. He says that dynoing a slow car in 3rd will take along time and dynoing a fast car in 4th gear will be dangerous because of the speed

What kind of dyno do they have? A DynoJet? If so, a 3rd gear dyno doesn't put enough load on the car to simulate real world situations. No wonder their tuning reputation sucks.

They have an all wheel drive dyno since they do so much work on AWD Stealths.

I contacted Evolution and they said they don't have a dyno and don't do any tuning. Just installs. They also don't have any experience with the ATI Procharger on the Z.

I had my car reflashed at AA a few months back - I found Mike to be very patient, as we literally worked for nearly 11 hours getting the settings exactly as I wanted them.

All my dynos (I think we made around 25 pulls) were done in 4th gear as well ( stood and watched every one)

Actually no Dyno Jet can reproduce real world driving or load conditions....a Dyno Jet is good for strioctly measuring peak HP and peak torque

Right. But on a DynoJet, a 5th gear pull puts more load on the car and is better for conservative tuning.

Other dyno machines such as the DynoPack can indeed put simulated load on the car.

I highly recomment Evolution for this install!!! Evolution did my greddy install not to mention many other parts. I have 3000 miles on my TT Kit with no problems. I would trust my car with no one else. True they have not Dyno but they have many hookups with places that do. Evolution knows this car and this Kit.

I have never gone to AA but I have not read many good things about them. I advise to stay away from AA.

Dude, go to Evolution. They did my supercharger and are always willing to give you advice or take a quick look if you think something is going wrong. The tech's there know their sh*t and seem to do the job right the first time. I haven't had any problems with my Z at all since they put in the vortech supercharger...go with Evo..seriously..

Go with Evolution

I have not gone FI, but I've witnessed a Vortech install as well as a Greddy install. The work at Evolution is superb, they take their time and get everything done perfectly.

I have had my exhaust and springs installed at Evolution, excellent work, not one problem with either. All of my future work (engine/power mods, as well as shocks) will be done at Evolution - no question about it.

Jeff and Steve are great to work with, and really professional. As I've (and others) said, definitely go with Evolution -- you won't regret it.

I've heard good things about Evolution, and mixed things about SRT (Swift). If you're local to the area, Mo at SRT will probably treat you very well and you will be fine there. His distance customers sometimes suffer though.

AAM was once a great shop back in the late 90s when they tuned Supras and 3000GTs pretty much exclusively. They've changed work forces at least twice since then and each time the quality of service went downhill.

We do have a DynoJet. My prefered method of tuning a vehicle, especially when it has an aftermarket engine management system and/or piggy back that will need substatial tuning, is to do the first set of runs in 3rd gear. I do this for two reasons: one to keep the underhood temps of the car down and, most importatntly, to reduce the amount of stress/abuse on my customers car. Running any car at WOT throttle / high load before they are fully tuned can really take a toll on a motor. When I have the tuning where I want it in 3rd, I make additional pulls in a higher (usually 4th on most cars) gear to double check my tuning is appropriate under higher load.

Everyone has different tuning methods, I choose the above which has been extremely effective on my own vehicles and I believe is the most reliable method for my customers.

Thanks,

Whoever suggested Swift racing should go over to IS300.NET and use the damn search function. I happen to have one of there turbo kits on an 02 IS and believe me when i tell you , you will never find customer service so fubarred. I dont doubt Mo's abilities in the least but ill let the posts an .NET inform you.

My turbo is in! I had the install done at Altered Atmosphere. Let me be the first to say that this shop knows their stuff. I’m now getting 350 to the wheels with 6 PSI, Stock Exhaust, & Stock Cats. Mike reflashed my ECU to accommodate for timing issue. Mike was very professional, walked me through the whole process, and addressed all concerns.
