Engine Management Solution, I found one.
One last thing.
I welcome anyone here to visit the AEM forums and do some research before you jump on the standalone band wagon.

FWIW my last car we spent 2 days tuning it on the dyno and road. Never touched a parameter again in 6 years up to the time I sold it. Driveabilty was on par with the stock ECU and never had any starting or stalling issues. In fact the car was flawless (OK so the gearbox blew after a couple of years but that's hardly the fault of the EMS or tuning). I'll admit we don't have the extremes of weather other parts of the world have (we're typically 40def F to 105deg F) but I think you're exagerating how long it takes to tune by someone who truely knows what they're doing.
I do agree with you that it takes far more knowledge than most people realise and a lot of people will claim to be experts because they can tune a car at WOT and claim no responsibility once it leaves the shop as it's for "off road use only".

Ultimate Racing: Well...
in previous posts of mine I have talked a lot about the advantages of a stock ecu over a stand alone... I am aware of all the differences. I am not your average joe either, I do this for a living... but you may already know that.
Either way... I understand your concerns... a little overkill for this thread but I understand either way. The HKS FCON is great for all the reasons you say because only authorized Pro Dealers have the software to tune it... this means it will be professional tuned in any application, which will reduce negative reactions.
also, as I mentioned, I plan to R&D with the FCON and a MAF system, which would drastically reduce the frequency of tuning maintenance required.
piggy backs are cool and all for their own reasons, and I use them in lots of places... but IMHO... this is not the place. Not with whats currently on the market at least.

I got the instructions and ignition RPM harness from Ultimate Racing. Maybe Ultimate Racing is doing something different than Greddy with the E-Manage.
Did anyone ever find out for sure (no guessing please we already did that) if the E-Manage uses MAF signal or injector duty cycle changes when you set up larger injectors?

This is very interesting. Hi hope someone can confirm that the timing maps in eMangage are usable with the harness. I have also heard from Greddy that we should not be connecting the harness. But clearly, this is working iwth swinke. That would be terrific, because I believe th eManage comes with three diferent fuel/ignition maps up to 8.5psi. RIght?

If I ever do burn up a coil you can bet that I will post it here the same day! I promise!
