check engine light is on
I drove to work today with my Z..... As soon as I started the car for the ride home my check engine light was on.....turned off the car for about 10 min, same thing......managed to take the molding apart where the e-manage is to take a look at it....i remember a thread about this.. The power light...i think it was power....was steady green and the connectivity light was flashing amber...is that normal? I drove it home lightly and monitored the oil press and engine temp carefully....Everythings ok but the light.... I can't find my manual.....
I think it could be that I have 11891 miles and it is possibly a service light that comes on for a 12000 mile check....at least I had another car that did that with oil....even if I changed it..
Do you think its that or there could be another problem??
Once again I dont have a manual so I couldn't check there first....thanks!

Here's the part of the turbo kit install that talks about it.
ACTIVE L.E.D.
(2) When the ignition is turned on, it will illuminate and flash GREEN.
(3) When it reaches to the A.A.V. setting RPM range, it will illuminate and flash ORANGE.
(4) When an error is detected it will flash RED.
INTERACTION L.E.D.
1. This will illuminate when there is a connection with PC.
Checking Error Codes
When the unit is powered up and if there are any errors, the ACTIVE L.E.D will turn “RED” from “GREEN”, and begin to flash.
If this happens shut the engine off and turn the ignition switch to “ON” position to go to Self Troubleshooting Mode. While in the Self Troubleshooting Mode, the L.E.D. will show the error code. Turn off the ignition. Check the error code in the chart below and fix the problem. The error code will show until the error is corrected.

If you go to the Greddy site under the technics menu you can download the emanage manual. I don't think it's the emanage. Pull the code from the ECU to see what it is.

I have tried to access the webpage on greddy for the e-manage...but it doesnt seem to work....says I do not have permission to access this page.
The active led is solid green when the car is on
The interaction led is flashing orange.
This may be a stupid question...but how do i check the error code...do I have to hook it up to a laptop or something...I cant get to the emanage manual page so I dont know.
I have never checked it before....does anyone else's emange do this under normal operation.....
I'm just trying to figure out wether there is a problem with the e-manage and the ECU
Or if it could be a regular service for my car thats scheduled for 12,000 miles...im gonna call Nissan to see....you know like a scheduled oil change or something like that.
Or if there is something else wrong.

Hey did you gut the cat or straight pipes or stock. i have the same problem. i had the codes read at a mechanics shop and came up nothing. my cats are gutted.
The ECU could be seeing that the cats are not doing thier job, because they are gone. This is the primary function of the secondary o2 sensor. If this is the case it can be fixed easily with a resistor. Take your car to autozone and they will pull the code and tell you what it is.

Plus the Greddy could be running very rich and fouling the O2 sensor.
Got to an Auto Zone or something like that. They usually have an OBDII reader that they will use to read your car for free. Find out what the code is (something like P0300). Once we know the code, we can help alot more.
Better yet, buy the CarChip E/X from Sears for $149. It can data log everything in the ECU for 300 hours or more. I have it and love it. Yes, it does trouble codes as well.
