Vortech Supercharger Install & Tuning
Hi there,
I,m looking for someone to supply and install and tune a Vortech supercharger in a G35 sedan 5 AT, I live in Manitoba which is just above ND. Has anyone had anything installed in the general area of the US? Example: MN, Montana ect the closest that I have found that is experienced in it is in NH & NC which are 18 + plus hour drives one way... any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Brent.

Call Paul at AvanlonRacing.net, he can get you a good deal on the kit but as far as I know, the kits are only for the manual 6 speed, not the AT. They may fit but you should check with Vortech first.
The automatic is going to take some custom work--probably the intercooler piping and MOST CERTAINLY the programming of the SplitSecond box. Trust me on this one... If the tuner you find does not have experience with the R4 software you are taking a risk.

Andy, one piece of advice... Have Vortech send you the "tighter" serpentine belt. The belt they sent with my kit (one of the first ones--perhaps the new kits have the tighter belt) got too loose and I ended up--ahem--breaking the idler pully tension adjuster bolt.
Vortech sent me a new slightly tighter belt for free--but due to my dumbness at cranking down too hard on that bolt (even when it was all the way to the end) meant my car was out of commission for a couple of days until the dealer could get me a new bolt via special order.
Well, actually one more piece of advise... Get a copy of the R4 software and learn how it works.

Steve,
Can you provide additional information?
To the best of my knowledge the underhood differences between the G35 MT Sedan and G35 AT Sedan are the engine driven "mechanical" radiator fan and a couple of transmission cooling lines connected to the bottom of the radiator.
Granted the ECU programs are different and will require diiferent tuning.

Yes the only difference between 6 MT and 5 AT is a mechanical fan. I have a twin flex o light 220 replacing the factory fan shroud, mechanical fan and electrical fan. Also the transmission cooler lines may have to be offset also to make room for the inter-cooler piping. I will be posting pictures of the fan set up in the next week or so.
