No extra timing retard @ 400 rwhp?! Hmmmm. Am I the only one who thinks that sounds a bit risky?

I think we are the only company that integrates a full custom return line, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and larger injectors. The timing issue, is really only detrimental at higher boost pressures like 8-10PSI, not 6.5, Greddys base map for their turbo kit isn't retarding timing if IIRC. The power level isn't what the main concern is with timing, it's the static compression ratio and fuel mixtures, which at 6.4PSI is around 14.3:1

Oh yeah, our Altima 3.5 Single turbo is running at boost between 5.5-8 on 91 pump gas, on stock timing.

If you check out kits that blow up motors without timing reconfiguration, they are pushing upwards of 10PSI (ATI) with stock injectors, etc.

That could be the reason it dynoed so high. But I *think* the G35 runs a less agressive timing map.

edit: on my Z I see about 25 digrees of advance under boost (5.5) This is why I have only driven it a few times since I finished the install. I would like to see about 19-22 digrees of advance. I am working on a cost effective way for people to pull timing with the greddy kit.

Very nice numbers. Wait a minute, that's about the power i get with 8 psi. How can this be? Nevertheless, looks like a good set up.

Is this "black box" you're using the Splitsecond box?

That's simply not true. There have been several documented cases of motors blowing at 7psi and one at 6psi.

yeah but its still a T3, not exactly leading edge technology there at all. Good kit and nice number nevertheless.

Yancy, They way they do it is open wastegates and high timing it's not magic. I don't think the tune would be one you'd drive on the street, there's not much margin in it for pump gas. Open waste gates are worth a good chunk of HP. But the trade off is the noise, I don't like it but some do.

Not with open wastegates. Carb might beat you with a bat if you showed up with that

I know I have 2 Tial wastegates and "think" they are open wastegates. I'll have to check on this.

I concur with Steve

If you leave the timings stock on a greddy or PE tt kit, your kit may not blow up, but the margin of safety is basicaly gone. 6.4 is high enough of boost to require timing retard for safe operation. If the A/F goes north of 12, I'd be holding on to my socks.

400rwhp on stock timing and only 6.4psi of boost. I would like to see the dyno please. I ran 405rwhp at 8psi and skiddazle ran about the same still at 8psi. also skiddazle car wastegates dump into the atmosphere from what I recall. my a/f is 11.4 across the whole rpm range. then again it could just be the dynos were using here compared to yours

He means open as in they dump into the atmosphere, greddys kit doesn't.

The Greddy kit does not run open wastegates, so if you have a Greddy kit, the only way the wastegates would be open is with a little custom fabrication.

Skidazzle is running open wastegates, but keep in mind, he has pulled alot of timing to make the car safe. A stock timing map could be part of the higher hp. Is the 402 corrected?

you dont belive me

i have the sheet to prove it

so i guess no one else can tune these cars, except ts or jotec.
no offense to either of them.

but what gets me is that you people doubt everything. will post dyno sheet later

and how come no one jumped on skiddazle for having wastegates that dump to atmoshpere. so is that why hes making all that power

and this kit makes the same power at 6.4

its hard to fathom that this kit does it with, no timing control and only makes 6.4lbs of boost......stock

and my car is auto

maybe this kit is more efficient at making power than the others
