Default Sc Vs Tt Same Boost Different Rwhp

IF you have both a TT system and a SC system making the same amount of boost shouldnt the TT yield higher numbers? From looking at installs and charts they seem to make the same amount of power. please tell me if im wrong?

2nd I noticed that many that use SC systems go back to stock pulleys is that because the systems were designed to be used with oem pulleys? If not it would seem that you would want the lightest pulleys and flywheels possible since vortech use 30% of the crank hp from the n/a engine, so in essence lighter drive train would yield higher numbers right? and if using the UR pulleys and a lightened flywheel wouldnt your boost kick in faster, it seems that most people in here are not getting boost til after 4krpm. please elaborate, I may bypass tt set up for a supercharger . thanks- BigErn

The UR crank pulley won't work because it is smaller in diameter. It will cause the SC to spin slower creating less boost. The pulleys provided are designed to provide 7 PSI using the OEM pulley.

Where did you get the 30% number. I believe that is very high. If I had to guess, I'd say no more than 10%

Usually SC's kick A$$ in the lower rpms, but in the Z's case we used smaller twin turbos which spool up faster on a 3.5 liter engine. I've been seeing the same Dynos as you have and I'm a bit surprised, but then again Im used to 2 liter hondas.

The TT set up is very nice for FI, because you have boost fast and good gains troughout the RPM band. For the Z, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons of both systems. The SC can be a lot less problematic than a turbo. The only way I'd ever do a turbo is if I had it installed professionally and the shop that did it was REALLY COOL, very reputable and no more than a 1 hour drive away. An SC, I'll hook that up and tune it with an AEM wideband.
