With this adapter does that mean we don't have to put in the rectifier diodes? If so, where can I get one of these adapter and how much are they? TIA

I just had my shop order one from Greddy. It wasn't any more than $20 (I think it was 15) . . . now, I'm just looking for instructions (not in Japanese) on how to install all this . . .

Bad news . . . apparently someone (not Kenji) gave us wrong info. They sent their remedy for the Mitsu!!! Greddy will not have an adapter available for another 6-8 months. Radio Shack, here we come . . .

My delay, your gain

Sorry...

This harness is used with the E-Manage to pull out ( retard ) timing so the engine does not pre-detonate.. ( Ping - Ping - Boom )

Other soulution a JS Device that detects via the knock sensor.
Cylinder by Cylinder a knock. Then retards timing for that cylinder on the next ignition.. If knock is detected on the second ignition.. timing is further retarded...

On the JS unit.. The question is when our VQ comes up to the rev limiter or MPH limiter does the JS logic bog down the car.. ( in a bad way )

Cheers Amy -
The JS company is in my city.. But have not interviewed him..

I read a 1996 Hot Rod Magizine that featured his product.. But that was many moons ago...

damn so this means that I should take it back and have them install my ignition timing harness and a new MAP? Man they are really not great of a tuner! I need to go to a new tuner! Anyways with all the optional parts, I think Greddy meant to do that for marketing issues. Which means the more parts you have to buy, the more money they will make. That is pretty smart on their side but not on ours!

Doubtful. I don't think that is the type of reputation they are tring to build.

Here is another mirror of the PDF. http://www.datavibe.net/~etx/z33_ignition%20install.pdf

I've now put 10,000 miles on this setup. Daily driven to work and back 5 days a week all summer. Not a single problem!

Tim

All these things you are asking about, is if you want MORE power then the stock Greddy TT set up.
Otherwise, you don't need to do any of it

Radio Shack didn't have the ones Derek used either, so I am using ones with the part # 276-1143 3amp.200PIV
These are alittle more protection then is needed, but will work just as good.
I have had them in for 6 months

When you purchase the timing harness, I also recommend you purchasing the optiona signal harness
This way you can tap your A/F and fuel pressure reading, on your e-01.

1N5404's will work fine I believe.

"All these things you are asking about, is if you want MORE power then the stock Greddy TT set up."

I disagree. Modifying the MAF signal will result in excessive timing advance. Break out the datalogger and change the conversion rate on the e-manage.

And the newer GReddy maps are safer now, running stock boost levels. Timing doesn't need to be pulled, IMO, if running just stock boost

Now if more more, higher boost is desired, then timing and fuel need to be address

TONS of post on this Tim, search and you shall find
