Vortech Whine
Hey Vortech owners - how long did it take you to get used to the Vortech whine? Miss the sweet hum of my Nismo CAI & Exhaust. Whine drowns out sound of exhaust.

With your bov, do you hear anything now with the foam. Ive got the filter and put some thin foam in it but it still whines. More importantly, when it vents it does not have a consistent psssst, its always a pst pst pst, like its chugging. Ive had the nut backed way out and it still does not change. Vortech have told me they would swap out the spring for a softer one if i ship the unit out to them. Suggestions????

I heard one guy say to turn the blue helmet of the BOV . Turn it a 1/4 of a turn . If your at WOT or heavy throttle and let off the gas and it flutters , thats compressor surge and isnt good for the blower . You might want to take off your filter to see if the foam you put in is to dense , and not allowing the air to get out fast enough

Its getting tuned tomarrow and hopefully were going to quiet it down a bit. Wife wants me to get rid of it. I'll let you know so we can make that Sandia run. You should go to 350zmotoring.com and talk to a guy named GOINGDEEP. He's from ALB and is getting a Greddy installed this week. Maybe you guys can help eachother out with questions. He seems to have done his homework and is a way cool guy. Talk to you soon T!

Removed "Gimble" belt on Saturday and ran his "Z" NA. Took his "Z" to the installer today. Compared noise of my Vortech SC Blower with his..... The bearings appear to be gone after only 3 days. Talked to John, James and Mike at Vortech today. Returning blower to Vortech for inspection. Barzten 1's "Z" will be down for 7-10 days.

SungNamZ has gone way out of his way to look out for me. I've never had anybody go out of their way for me like he has. Called him at 3:30 in the morning the other day because performance shop didn't tighten idaller pully and I dropped it. He came to the rescue with tools. He went to performance shop several times to make sure all is well with install. Don't know how to pay him back but much praise and thanks to him. All hail to SungNamZ!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the new blower back from Vortech and what a major diffference. Can't hardly hear the whine from inside the car. Wish the BOV wasn't so loud. Hey Booger, do you have any pics of that BOV foam stuffing. Want to try it but performance shop didn't recomend it but I have more faith in you guys who have actuallly put this stuff to the test. Vortech is tons of fun but still need the R4!

Barzten...Go to Sears and get a foam filter for a shop vac . Cut a patch of it the same size as the BOV filter and about 6 to 8 inches long and roll in up tight . Put it in the filter and let go of it and it will expand and fill the inside of the BOV filter . Glad to hear Vortech took care of you...Bill
