Default VORTECH time slip..:(...cant hook up!

Well here is my timeslip........I have bald Proxies and could not hook up if my life depended on it. Burned rubber and hit rev limiter all the way to 3rd gear, absolutely horrible driving by me due to limited traction. This run was with my un-tuned vortech kit dynoed at 333rwhp. I am very happy with my trap speed but gosh man my 60' time is just horrible. My fastest time was 13.4 at 108mph and my 60' time was 2.251........with practice (never driven a 6 speed with this much power) and good tires a 12 sec run I think is definetely in reach as the car sits now un-tuned.

Any input is welcome. I tried my hardest but the damn thing just burned rubber bad...........LOL.

Fluidz I just ran a 13.9 stock today and what helpd me was following the advice of BriGuyMax (13.68 stock), who also had a video of his run. It involveds slipping the clutch, not just dumping it. I used this method and shaved 3 tenths off my time and 2 tenths off my 60'. from 2.3 to 2.1.

Trust me I tried but man you give it any gas and with my bald proxies it just lights up. I must practice with new tires.

Any other Z's out there tonight Kev, I missed it. I am trying to hook up with either a black track driven by a young black male (stock) or a young asian female with a kit and stillen grille and a cai and exhaust. Hers is CS. They are cool. Track model dude is from Srockton I blow him every time lol he is a good sport though. The Asian is just fun to look at and has my same grill.

I thought it would rain. That was 12's weather man. You need tires that's all there is to it,

Pretty decent traps for an untuned system. Tuned with a good launch you could hit 12's @ 110 + on street tires. Get that beast tuned, get some new tires, run it again and let us know how it goes...I am highly considering a Vortech system, do you think that with 400 rwhp 115 mph traps are attainable with the Vortech? Some dude just hit 117 with slightly over 400 rwhp on a Greddy kit, but turbo cars always pull better up-top than s/c's...

launch like you're at a stoplight.......low R's.......you have too much torque to start out with the wheels spinning.........get them rolling, then gun it!

Right on, my employer kicked me to the curb for doing what they told me to do so I am doing some weekend night work elsewhere. My home based business picks up this time of year anyway so I want to spend some time out there on Wednesday too. Before it gets too hot. What tires did you go with?

Hey one more thing.

On your boost guage what is the highest level of boost you have seen? Is it the same Autometer mechanical boost guage I have?

I have new plugs coming (thanks for the motivation to go Irrad Kev) so my car will be really dialed. I emailed your avitar to my old boss! Rock on!

My Dad is letting me use his 275X45X18 BFG Street Legal Drag Radials....They are brand new only two runs on them. You think those will help me hook up a lil. After that Im'na buy me some RT Drags......On the dyno it said 7.3lbs of boost but that was at 6,400rpm. Boost gauge is hard to read as it isnt digital. The AEM gauge is sweet, tune this beast myself....LOL........Long straight away in 4th gear at 2,500rpm and gun it, see A/F perfectly.

Fug yeah I do. If you can't hook with those you better go back to "NOS" hahahaha!

Is that the guy I met at the show? That guy was cool.

"275X45X18 BFG Street Legal Drag Radials'

Where can I get those at? Been looking for some 18 in DR's.

Yeah I needed a copilot (EJ) for this because what I saw wasn't what he saw, too hard to watch. He saw 11 a feew times, that's nuts (before I swapped pulleys.) Then 10 PSI now 9 psi, all witnessed.

Yeah they are good, heck I ran just their KD's and was hooking in my LSI and they were not even Drag's. I love BFG Drag's. Got a link?

I think EJ is right, lower your rpm's till you hook then launch.

Are you talking about these?

Guess you will find out . I like em. Heat em up real good and get them sticky before you launch, go around and then back into the water first with DR's.
