Default Most satisfying FI choice for daily driver

I have been following this forum for a while and also doing some reading regarding FI choices.

My interpretation of FI choices:

For daily driving (90%+ of time), i.e. nice power increase in 2000 - 4000 rpm range: Twin turbo, or twin screw SC. (The centrifugal SC has only minimal gains in this rpm range).

For racing/fast mode, 4000 - 6500 rpm: Twin turbo, twin screw, or centrifugal SC.

My conclusion: If one is looking for nice gains for daily driving and the occassional speeding, then a TT, or twin screw type SC would be the best choice. Here the PE kit (fits both RHD, LHD vehicles) looks the most attractive to me, but pricey. The Stillen SC is not very attractive since it requires hood mods & removal of the front stabiliser. Also it delivers only modest gains in std configuration.
Therefore if money is not a problem the PE appears to me to be the best fit to the abovementioned requirement.

This is just the *personal* view of a Newbie. Am I on the right track? Or have I misjudged the centrifugal SC units, such as Vortech (which appears popular here). There is a local vendor here that is offering the Vortech - your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I think vortech stuff is awesome and they build rock solid products. I think it would be a great addition to a daily driven Z. It has about the best bang for the buck. My personal opinion on the screw type superchargers is not very good. I don't like how much heat they produce and how hard it is to cool the intake charge. The TT is nice for performance because you'll be happy with the inital power and still have plenty of room to expand later. It will also cost more.

Well ...I just came in from the garage....looking at all the good stuff that came in the big Vortech box the UPS man just delivered. So I would have to say Vortech is the best choice....Im not biased am I...lol....If your pockets are deep...go with the TT set up.....If you are limited...go with the Vortech

Well if it's a daily driver, I would guess you want high reliability from your engine too? If you are gonna be running higher boost from lower RPMs, wouldn't that theoretically put more wear and tear on the engine?

The Z is plenty fast from 2000-3900 RPM (ie. when I'm not going real fast).. However, I appreciate the extra boost when I really step on it.. That's how I like my daily driver..

For daily driver purposes and over reliability, and gently boosted TT is actually a more satisfiying and trouble free car than any SC. Obviously, the TT and SC have their own benifits and drawbacks. But the TT is totally dormant and invisibile when you are cruising, and has no stress and parisitic drag on the engine. It really is seamless...sometimes...I dont even notice its there, until I dip into the boost. Also, the SC's are pretty tough on the belts, and it's not uncommon to snap them after a relatively short period of time...not to mention that under the hood dust from those belts wearing out.

Now, I know turbos are far from perfect. Some issues include more complex installation and plumbing, heat, and costs.

As mentioned, the SC is definaltey more cost effective, but if you can spare an extra $2500, you can't beat the turbo. TONS more torque and HP at very low RPM. My TT kit at only 5psi with a stock exhuast put out 300lbs of torque at only 2600rpm.

I hope I dont sounds like a TT elitist...that is not my intention. All these decisions are very personal, and there are a many considerations to look at. To each his own.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the TT is the way to go if one can afford it

No question about it.......its just money and if you have it, the TT is the fastest option there is. My little Vortech goes OK to though..
