Default Vortech SC drag videos (G35 sedan)

Here are a couple of clips taken of me trying to learn how to launch my Vortech-supercharged sedan. On the second of these videos, I actually had a fairly decent launch--my *only* good launch in three quick trips to the drag strip--but I missed 3rd gear and I think it cost me getting into the 12s.

If I can learn to launch consistently, I'm confident I can get into the mid-to-high 12s. BTW, if you listen carefully you can hear the chirp going into 4th gear.

1/8th mile run (no time shown)

1/4 mile run... Decent launch, missed 3rd gear (13.2 seconds)

For best results, right click the links and do a "Save As" to your machine prior to viewing.

I'm a bit embarrassed by my lack of launch skill because I know people are basing their supercharger purchase decisions on how fast the Z will go with forced induction. There no reason a good driver shouldn't be well into the 12s--especially with the lighter 350Z.

I'll keep practicing and make my fellow Vortech owners proud

What 60ft did you pull on that 13.2 run? Impressive times for a sedan even for missing 3rd. Any dynos #'s? You could probobly run 108-109mph on a good clean run.

My 60ft time was 1.98. I had several runs where my trap speed was 109.5mph--but my 60ft time on those runs was in the 2.2 range.

My last dyno was in the 370rwhp range.

Hey, Bill... Long time no see around here.

It was a Thursday and that was one of the first runs. Unfortunately, the track filled up *really* fast. I wish there had been fewer people and I could have practiced burnouts and launches without the pressure of having to move the crowds along.

Huh? You lost me. You're not going by the position of those cones are you? Those aren't lined up with the staging lights.

The best part about your car is that it's a sleeper. Eventhough i have a Z, I would still like to lve vicariously through you. So here's the plan, go **** with some people, and report the look on their faces when you get back here
