Default Vortewech is in the car

I picked up the car on the way back from the airport...I just got back from vacation...I'm going back to the shop in the morning to talk to the guy that did the install and go over every thing. He had already left for the day. I took it easy on the way home . We unpacked our cases and then went for a ride , so my girl freind could watch the gauges. I told her to just keep an eye on the A/F , and to make sure it keeps dropping the faster we went. I didnt think to tell her to look at the boost so I dont know what it read . I got it up to 7,500 rpm on the tach ,so I know the tach is off, It didnt bounce off the limiter [7,200] I only did a 1st and 2nd gear red line run in manual mode . I will test out to see if it shifts in auto tomorrow . I'll have the mech. with me to watch. I got dyno time Wensday morning .Its going to be on a Mustang Dyno so I know its going to be only about 290whp.Every thing seems good so far ,Im going to get a filter for that BOV . Dam thing whilsles at idle and decel. and its loud . I may need new tires soon !!!!!!!!

Booger, congrats on the install, let us know your impressions. I am really liking mine the more I drive it. Yes, we need to find a cure for that nasty whistle in BOV. It sounds like a few of us are experiencing it.

THANKS....I did take it out last night. And it did shift in auto at WOT. So I feel good about that . When I backed it out of the garage though, in reverse it was making a nasty noise, must be some thing rattling .Leaving in a couple minutes to go to the shop.Talk to the mech who did the install, go over every thing and see what can be done about the whistle , and noise in reverse. I still have to cut the bumper before I dyno and tune it Wednesday

Good luck. By the way, I am considering cutting a hole in bumper as well (although, dyno #'s looked OK without it) for better exposure of the IC. If you do go that route (same as Dollar99 has) please take some pics during the process if possible. Thanks!

Booger...

How are you hitting 7500rpm? I'm assuming you've had the redline limiter disabled/changed. Can you tell me how you did this.

I did have the TS ECU for a while, but went back to stock ECU for the Vortech install. I'm finding the biggest thing I miss about the TS is the raised rev limiter. Would like to be able to wind up to about 7000-7200 rpm.

Its set at 7,200rpm....in my post I stated that it has to be off [ my tach] because I went to 7,500rpm and it didnt bounce off the limiter

I just got back from the shop . The real bad whistle is gone .Found out in intercooler piping that runs behind the compessor was touching it. And it resonated the sound real bad .Mech. took a hunk of hose [ about 3 inches] and split it and tucked it in between the piping and the compressor . We went for a ride and he kept an eye on the gauges . I got over 10lbs of boosts at 7,000 rpm and A/F never got any lower than 11.2 to 1. At WOT ....A/F dropped down right away to 12.2to1. NOW I REAL HAPPY . Cant wait to dyno and tune Wednesday

Sorry... I didn't make my request clear... how did you reset your rev limiter specifically? Was it with an ECU flash, throught the R4 software, or some other way?

edit... also,I can't wait to see your dynos. It looks like your mods are similar to mine (minus the cams). It will be interesting to see how much power you are making.

Are you cutting the bumper or just sections of the grill? Do you think cutting the bumper is a must? Sounds like TS worked out the issues with the 5AT?
