Hey guys I have been wondering how many of you are using test pipes on your TT systems and what brand of test pipe is commonly used?

Are any of you using a cat fooler to rectify the CEL?

When you install the test pipes do you commonly find this causes a check engine light condition?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, I have heard many conflicting reports on this topic so your input is appreciated.

i will go first:

custom 3" downpipes
had CELs constantly
made my own o2 simulator
no more CELs.

I'm running the greddy kit with Kinetix test pipes. About 3k miles so far and no CEL. I figured it would throw a cel for sure, but so far so good.

If your getting a CEL for test pipes I can lookup the resistor you can wire into your o2 harness to get rid of it.

I'm sorry etx, which kit did you say you were running ?

 

Hollowed out stock cats, no CEL light yet.

 

I have test pipes, I used to get a CEL every few hundred miles. I would go to get it cleared out at AutoZone and it would come back. I got it cleared at PepBoys for an oil change and haven't had it come back since then (several thousand miles)

 

lsdunique pipes & greddy, no problems.

 

kinetix test's.........

bought em, installed em, and consequently removed and sold em (all within the same week)

they were too much for my taste, with (or without) the borla TD...

guess i am a bit too mild... NE-way, i heard similar reports b-4 i bought, but had to see for myself before installing........

esemes, what didn't you like about them? I think of getting the borla TD and the Kinetix or Heliz test pipes.

 

i had the CEL come on then turn off then turn on again...

So i can just go to pep boys or something to reset it right?

 

Yeah, they didn't even charge for it.
