Default STILLEN Pictures

Hello,

I'm looking for pictures of the STILLEN hood. I really like this kit and am considering either Stage 2 or Stage 3. The low end torque and reliable power are really attractive, but the hood modification is of course, a drawback. I know there aren't a substantial number of people on this forum with this kit but was hoping if those with the kit that are could post pictures. Please don't ask me to use the search funtion. I actually have spent alot of time looking for as much information as I can on this kit. 2003z, an active member on this forum, has been very helpful and posted 3+ pictures that i have seen both of his kit and hood modifications. I have also seen pictures of m3powerrr's (I hope that is how he spells it) kit. Although, other than that, I have had trouble finding pictures of the hood, both full fiberglass and carbon fiber. STILLEN's website shows pictures of the different hood possibilities but the pictures aren't well...good. Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks.

you probably saw my pictures, if not I can post them of the cf hoodscoop. I just installed the full fiberglass hood, and getting it painted this week. Here is a picture of it in white gelcoat. It looks much better than the added on hoodscoop I had before. If you have silverstone and dont want to cut your hood, you can buy mine with the scoop installed!

2003z, thanks for the picture of the fiberglass. I've been searching for a quality picture of it. Unfortunately, my Z is black so I can't take you up on your offer. I like your new hood though. It really looks nice. The website picture of the car doesn't appear as clean or appealing as it does on your car. Thanks for posting that picture. I would appreciate any others (side angles, interior picture from the drivers seat...etc.) but I don't want to get greedy. If I can bother you however, where do you have it painted to match the color of your car. Or can you order the fiberglass hood pre-painted to a specific color (in my case black). Thanks again for the picture.

P.S. - I really like your car and wheels!

I was a little wary of the Stillen hood, but I can honestly say it looks much better in person than in pictures. I saw 2003z's hood with the carbon fiber insert on it and it looked nice! Since you have a super black, you ought to just buy his carbon fiber insert.

I think the full CF hood look really nice. No mistake when you see a Z with this thing on it. It'll smoke yo A$$.

I have mixed opinions on the two-tone car and hood coloring. If I go with the STILLEN, I want the whole hood painted black to match my car, just my desire for the car to match. It appears, after seeing 2003z's picture, that you have to paint the fiberglass hood regardless to match your paticular color. How about the full carbon fiber hood. Can I paint it to match the color of my car without the stripes (I'm don't know much about body kits and coloring, sorry)? And assuming either way, where or how should I go about getting it painted to properly match the color of my car, without ending up with two shades of black? Thanks again for yall's input and help.

I posted lots of pics in the above thread, I don't have to wait 30 seconds at frenzy, so it was a lot easier.

As far as painting, you need to take it to a good bodyshop. Black, fortunately, is the easiest color to match and they wouldn't have a problem. Painting will probably run you $300-500. A friend in Orlando is painting mine for me. If you get the full carbon fiber, it can be painted also, or you could just leave it as is, as it will be glossy and dark gray. Lots of folks like the cf look. Best place to start if you have not dealt with a bodyshop or have a friend who has is to go to the dealerships bodyshop. If they don't have one, ask them where they send their work to be done.

Thank you for the link. Those pictures are exactly what I was hoping to find. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. Again, I really like the car.

I think running the unit through a hole in the stock hook would look mean. You'd be able to see the pulley and about half of the blower.
