Default Vortech installed - problem

We installed the Vortech S/C yesterday (phew!) but the engine is throwing P0345 OBD-II Code.
P0345: Cam Angle Sensor ; 2nd Bank

Has anyone had a similar encounter?

Also, the car has tremendous difficulty starting - the crank rotates but the engine doesn't start... but eventually it does start.

Thanks guys.

Have you tried reseting the throttle position sensor. Fluidz had alot of problems starting his after install and it running dog rough.
The sequence is to turn the key to the ACC position 3 times within 5 seconds.
Worth ago mate.

Just tried with no success.

Also, while driving, the car seems to be in limp mode with little power.

Sounds like the SS Box is installed incorrectly. There are a few cam sensor wires that probably are crossed or incorrectly wired. I would double check that first and if it dosent fix, disconnect the ss box and start, should be fine. I'd bet 50 bucks the ss box is not properly wired.

I'm not sure how their box works, but fluidz is probably right. It would be real easy to wire in the crank sensor splice backwards. My OCD got the best of me and I must have checked my wiring at least 8 times to make sure I didn't get anything backwards with the stillen.

Hmm... which cam is considered "Bank 2". I know that the Vortech sits incredibly close to one of the cam sensors where the supercharger mounts

It may be possible that the sensor was bumped or damaged somehow during install. I'd still go with the SS box check first. If not, you may want to run a diagnostic on that sensor.

If you have a service manual, you will find the cam sensor diagnostic procedures on pages EC308-EC315. Good luck!

The issue was the box itself. When we directed the CAM wire to go straight into the ECU without interception by the box the car started up fine and no more OBD-II codes.
Hopefully a replacement SS box will be here tomorrow.

The replacement SS box was just put in and everything works like a charm - it was indeed a defected SS box.

Glad to hear you've sorted it.
My kit is brilliant.
Found a small oil leak on the tee piece that comes off the oil pressure sender unit to the blower oil feed. Its just weeping out. Taking it back on Monday to sort it.
What a car this is with forced induction.
