What would be a good cam to use for FI?

I've heard people talk about JWT, but honestly, I haven't had a chance to do any detailed research on the various cam profiles and how they would affect the power curve on a boosted engine.

I have been told the JWT are good for FI also, but I just wanted some opinions.

In the future I planned to get JWT cams and a Stillen SC. So if anyone has done cams with FI please respond.

lovetoclown, did you dyno your car before and after the DC headers?

Oh well, I will re-dyno my car after they are installed. I had to jump on the Summit band wagon as well.

Okay, I talked with a couple of people and the response I got was "I wouldn't do it on my car."

with what kind of FI are you considering cams...makes a big difference

As for the Vortec, there are a good nube of people dynoing at around 400 + on the kit alone....another 7-8 hp hardly seems worth it.

Cams need to compliment FI...the cams out there seem to me to be desinged around NA, not FI use

I'll be going with a vortech or stillen. and 7-8 hp for cams does kind of suck. But each mod compliments the other or hurts it. So 7-8hp might be 15-20hp when you add the exhaust, intake or whatever. Its the overall effect I'm looking for.

I think I am going to go with Stillen and stock cams. It will still smoke most cars on the street...even a Z06 Vette (stock, of course) I don't care about having a Z with the most HP though. I guess it just depends what you want.

I would get the car tuned out with the Vortec on stock cams.

From there on out, I'd look for a cam with a bit of overlap, and one where the exhaust cam is on the higher lift/duration side relative to intake cam. if you look at the current cam offerings for the car, none are really well suited for FI at all.

so you are saying in ur professional opinion...the cams that are out on the mkt today do not compliment any of the FI kits as well as they could...

i too am looking at the vortech with cams...but not sure which one's....
