Question Using the R4 software to connect to the SS Box

I have been trying to get my laptop to connect to the SS Box that comes with the Vortech kit and I am having no luck. I am able to connect to the UTEC ECU in my buddies WRX with no problems so I am certain that the Port in the laptop and the cable are OK. Does anyone know what the port speed, etc. should be to connect to the SS Box. The help file that comes with the R4 software is useless at best. TIA

Yes, I created a new profile and then opened it. I pushed the connect button and the dialog opens that counts down from 10 but it never connects. I am at work right now so I won't be able to try it on the car but, I have the R4 software on my PC at work too. I am a little stumped. My first thought was that the SS box was not getting power but that can't be the case since I can see on my wideband that I am getting really rich when I get into boost so it must be triggering the pump. If you could PM me your number I will give you a ring when I am working on the car after it stops raining. Thanx!

Yes. I am 99.9% certain that I know what the problem is but, since it is raining I haven't been able to verify it. I had the System setting switched to "Additional Injector Controller" rather than "Programmable Signal Calibrator".

Hey, Where did you guys get the softwar from anyway? I emailed split second about, but they never replied. Is it something I could get a burned copy of, or do I need to purchase it somewhere?

Well, switching it to "Programmable Signal Calibrator" didn't help. I am strating to think that there is a problem with the port on the SS box.

Call SplitSecond first..They are very good on walking you thru it . I dont know if you know this...but some setting do change when you connect to the ECU and have to be put back before you flash new settings into the ECU .Ask Split Second about them also
