Possible Vortech air filter replacement fix
I think I just had a stroke of brilliance.
I installed my vortech, without the filter, so I'm committed to finding a way around the standard setup. I think I found the solution.
The main problem is that the filter is too tall to fit between the S/C and the radiator support. So, what about using a mushroom type filter like greddy or hks use as opposed to the cone filter that comes with the kit. This would have the added benefit of using the factory air duct through the front bumper. (The cone filter has a solid top that plugs the air duct forcing the S/C to suck hot engine air, whereas the mushroom filters are open on top)
Does anyone actually have one of these filters, like on a TT maybe, so we could find out the exact dimensions?
