Default bouldernissan z update

hello everyone i just wanted to update everyone on our progress. to date we have developed 597 rwhp and about 550 ftlbs of torque. i apologize i dont have the dyno sheets in front of me at the moment. we dynoed again today and settled in at about 590rwhp and 570 torque. this is with our fuel upgrade, return system. we are now convinced that we are going to need larger injectors and reflash the ecu. the fuel regulator definitely helped us tune our air fuel up top. we are going to bandimere speedway tommorow so if your in denver hope to see you their. we ran 2 weeks ago and managed a 13.087 at 114mph. thats at 5200 feet and 9 pounds of boost. car should now be tuned and hopefully will run low 12s high 11s at altitude. thanks jason

Out of curiosity, have you guys done any driveline upgrades? If so, what? How's the tires coping with the power band?

juztin we have upgraded the rear diff with a nismo lsd. we also have a os giken twin disk clutch. the clutch is supposedly capable of supporting up to 750 horse. i have the dyno printout in front of me now and the exact numbers are 589.8 rwh and 586.8 torque. there is quite a bit more power to be tapped once we install 720 or larger injectors. from 3k to about 4.3k we are running richer than 10 to 1 and still manage about 450rwh. as far as the tires go we will find out tommorow we installed a set of nitto drag radials so we will let you know how they do. hope to see you at bandimere. thanks jason

That kicks a$$!!! Are you going to post full build specs? I'd be very interested in any bottom end mods and/or FI setup mods you have done (that is... not which FI kit, but anything you did to the kit you put on the car).

Wow, those numbers are very impressive. Do you have plans to do any testing at a road-racing track? I guarantee you'd see more than a 2-second improvement over stock at Second Creek or Pueblo!

Keep up the great work!

bldrz,
I know this may be further down the line, but after completion of your project z, will you guys be 'open' to doing TT installs/tunning on customer vehicles? I am actually in Albuquerque, NM, and have been closely following any news/developments on your project 350Z (I think I also heard rumors of a G35 project?) because I would like to have a Greddy TT kit installed on my car but I really don't feel there is anybody locally who I could trust 100% (it's no secret this is not a simple install), and all other out-of-town shops who have experience with 350Z TT installs are not at 5000+ feet of altitude, so the tunning would not translate very well.

garym05 we are very involved in road racing(track days) i currently ride a ducati and honda on the track but have been out many times in various cars. along with the horsepower we have a fully sorted nismo suspension and nismo sway bars. this winter we will install a widebody kit as well as a big brake kit. we plan to visit both tracks this summer. when we find the time we will post in the regional forum to try and get as many zs together as possible.

newmexicoz33 we are currently accepting customer cars for all performance upgrades. the rumor is true we completed the g35 about 2 weeks ago. he did a fully built motor(internals) and greddy tt kit. his car in its final state of tune dynoed at about 480 rwh(sorry dont have his dyno sheet in front of me). we have also completed numerous smaller jobs cams, exhaust, headers, etc. we have some unbelievable incentives going on right now. pm me and i can go over the details. thanks jason

Bldrz, when does the turbo's hit max boost? Could you guys recall when max boost was hit @ the lower trim levels of 5-6.5psi? I'm trying to get an idea of the power curve offered by the greddy kit over the numerous ball bearing turbo kits coming out. Any info is greatly appreciated.

juztin we never ran our car at those psi levels, however if you have a quality boost controller you should be able to adjust the gain and set to achieve the type of curve you prefer. drop by the store some time and ask for eric or myself and we can go over all the variables thanks jason. by the way we are going to have a booth at bandimere for this weekends races anybody local should drop by. thanks jason

Those numbers seem very hi with that amount of boost. I am running the same setup but with Tomei 264cams, RC 750cc injectors and the technosquare reflash but with the stock fuel pump (waiting on parts for returnstyle fuel sys), at 10psi we managed 452hp and 417tq, wich seems about right. Skidazzles car made 451 at 10.5psi on stock compression so i think i'm on the right track. Gaining more than 140hp at the wheels from 3 psi confuses me.

Is there a reason for this difference?

I think 13psi isn't correct, because before they said " 507rwh is 14-15pounds, the torque is about 550.", so it has to be more.
