Greddy plus Extras???
I'm very interested in going TT. Except, I have a problem, I don't know what I need to know concerning turbo applications.
I'm trying to learn what extras I would need if I went with the Greddy kit. I'm not looking for huge power (not right now at least
). I want RELIABLE power. This car is a daily driver with occasional racing, at a stop light or track. If I went with the Greddy, I would keep it at the 5.6-6 psi range at the beginning. Although, what extras would I need to keep it all safe (keep in mind, I know nothing about turbos)? Next, what kind of tuning do I need to keep the A/F where it should be (do I need extra computer upgrades?)? And finally, how much would this cost me to run the Greddy kit at standard boost (purchasing products, install, and tuning)?

The Greddy kit is good to go out of the Box for the preset boost. You can really bolt it on and daily drive the car. I've been driving mine daily since April, with no problems. After the install take it to the dyno to check the A/F and that's it. No tuning is needed or other toys. The rest is for when you decide to turn up the boost. I would get a boost gauge and Blow off valve just to be sure but that's it. The rest is just icing.
Others on here will say to get the Wideband and other gauges, but not one car has been damaged due to the Greddy kit that I can recall. If installed right it's pretty solid.

I think the kit.. with stock boost...
Could only be a problem, if the plumbing were bad. So most shops could install Greddy TT and NOT have an in depth knowlege of the Computer/Software system.

But this week we have added E-01 and a turbo timer..
The addition of the E-01 and/or the PC based E-MAnage software is the point where this system is no longer a bolt up.
One can change the "Stock" fuel maps
Download "proven" fuel maps..
Over-ride boost settings
All of these are at the "Liability" of the tuner.. Or self Tuner..

If you have a shop install it they are going to make thier money on the install so they should sell the parts at the prices you can find on the net. If your going to install it just buy the parts from the web any way. Don't worry about the warranty there isn't any

Greddy kit with intercooler : 5800.00
Greddy type-s BOV and alum flange : 210.00
Boost guage depends brand : 60-200.00
Install : I've seen anywhere from 1000.00 to 2000.00
It's a fairly tough install for a "bolt on kit" No cutting or welding but it's a pretty tight fit.
