Default Intercooler Sprayer Gains?????

What do you guys think the gains are for an IC sprayer?
Do any of you run one? I would imagine its anywhere from 8 to 20hp depending upon the app, but thats just a WAG.
If anyone has some answers please do speak up. Thanx!!

I've always wondered about this too. Also, how exactly do they work? I mean, do you hit a button and it sprays only just before a race or does it automatically and intermittantly spray no matter what? If it is just for a race, do you do it just once before you race (or do a drag strip run) or does it spray the entire race continuously?

Thanks

Generally they will come on at a certain temperature or you can switch over to manual mode.

are you talking about a water spray kit or NOS?

Most times, these work really well in hot/humid climates, or on a dyno (where there is no actual airflow)

Here is a link to one made in Britain:

All it is, is a section of tubing that has a series of pin holes drilled into it, through which you express liquid CO2 from a bottle onto the cooling fins of the intercooler. It serves to reduce the temp of the air charge, and thus with a colder and denser air charge increase hp.
For drag racing one would probably toggle off a shot a few seconds before launch, and perhaps keep it going down the track. For road racing you can't do that for an extended time, obviously, so you would use it to help keep you temp down with periodic shots triggered by a thermostat, or manual selection. It is not complex at all for a DIY project.
